WORST POSSIBLE FAILURE: I Found The Coolant Problem On My CHEAP Jag F-Type

WORST POSSIBLE FAILURE: I Found The Coolant Problem On My CHEAP Jag F-Type

It’s time to dig into my cheap (broken) 2014 Jaguar F-Type S. After I got the F-Type back to the shop I got it to turn over, blowing rusty coolant all over the car and the shop. Then after putting the plugs back in it ran great even though it was burning coolant at an insane rate. I was able to drive it around the shop a little bit without so much as a misfire… but now we have to find the coolant problem, and of course it’s bad but possibly even a total loss.

Ugh, I dumped an lr4 for this reason, at that time a used motor was around $12k, plus like another 5-7k in labor.

Also there’s an oil tube under the cap to hook up a vacuum for mess free oil sampling/changes.

John Asbury says:

The engine is junk anyhow it would be a great time to do a video on testing head gasket in a bottle type products . We know it probably won't work but you might get the tool around and have a little fun before it cuts loose again

If the engines coming out anyway, pulling the heads should be a bit easier. The added benefit of possible head gasket cheap fix?

Wish there was a mazda engine that fit.

Nick Allain says:

If the 3.0 is the same as the 5.0, you can drain oil with a vacuum pump. There would be a pickup under the oil cap.
