My Jaguar CD wouldn’t read discs or spin up. Got a new laser transport for it and works awesome now 🙂 Here is an online guide I followed: http://www.linkovi…

cobradvs says:

@thatguyontheright1 Hey mine is broken too. Whats the problem with yours?

thomas3120 says:

@jboypacman Thanks Jboy 🙂 yeah this one seems to be a common issue, so it
was easier to find info and part numbers on it

thomas3120 says:

@segajcharrua Thanks! Is this for the model 1 or model 2? I haven’t had any
problems with mine so don’t know what model number, etc.. to look for. If
you have a chance, open yours up and see if you can get some kind of model
number for the CD mech. The place I got the Jag mech may carry them.

@CosRamix Thanks mate!

thomas3120 says:

@RaulBillieJean Thanks Raul 🙂 For de-soldering the wires, I just took my
soldering iron, placed it on the solder then gently pulled/removed the
wire. There’s probably enough cable length where you could snip all the
wires off the old laser transport. (snipping them as close to the solder
joint as possible)

thomas3120 says:

@thatguyontheright1 Thanks, really don’t mess with the model 1 Sega CDs.
What problem are you having with it?

thomas3120 says:

@SMAAAASHTV Yeah Rage is awesome! 😀

potential than it was given:)

thomas3120 says:

SMAAAASHTV says:

Heck yeah, bombtrack is the shit!

thomas3120 says:

@P5ychoFox Thanks 🙂 Actually when I was looking up why it wouldn’t turn on
(without a cart installed hehe), that’s where I found the info on jumping
the 2 pins to get it to power up.

thomas3120 says:

@Jamiepr Thanks Jamie!

thomas3120 says:

@xTHExSTIGx LOL 🙂 Thanks John! Yeah it’s good beer 😀 hehe ‘Newky Brown’
…but ‘wife beater’? lol

THOMASSU63 says:

You’re a real MacGyver with electronics and stuff. Stay classy San Diego!

thatguyontheright1 says:

@cobradvs the tray issue. The main drive cant lock into position so as a
result, the tray ejects and retracts repeatedly.

thomas3120 says:

@THOMASSU63 Thanks Thomas!

thomas3120 says:

@MaxinMaytrix Thanks Michael! keep looking…one will pop up 🙂

Bylga says:

Best looking CD player ever. Great music.

thomas3120 says:

@KieranD212 Thanks mate! yeah first i was worried the Jag system wasn’t
working…but to power on you have to have a cartridge inserted. Then tried
a music CD in the Jag CD…wouldn’t even spin up. Seems to be a common
fault on the CD units, just glad they still make/sell parts for them 🙂
Yeah, love the Newky brown lol 😀

thomas3120 says:

@TehUberCyberBeast ohhh yeah! love me some Dire Straits! 😀

thomas3120 says:

@TehUberCyberBeast hmm..some great beer that Newky brown lol 🙂

Jamie Plowman-Render says:

P5ychoFox says:

Great fix! Genius how you jumped two pins to get the CD spinning.

David Ammerlaan says:

MaxinMaytrix says:
