Jaguar Xe 2.0D Major Service

Jaguar Xe 2.0D Major Service

Welcome Back!

Another “How To” video on the Jaguar XE!

I have done this video to help whoever wants to service their own jaguar XE. It’s pretty basic stuff and not really any other different than most modern cars, even if you want to change the oil more regularly this could help you out.

we have started to see alot more timing chain failures and turbo’s starting to fail and in my opinion its the 20,000 mile service intervals contributing to this (just my opinion!)

I have split the video up in to different sections so if you only want to do one section of the service it will be easy to find:

0:00 – Intro
2:20 – Oil & Filter Change
10:45 – Air filter replacement
12:15 – Fuel filter replacement
18:20 – Cabin (pollen) filter replacement

links to service items and oil filter tool as mentioned:

– Oil: https://ebay.us/4rwnwB

– Service Kit: https://ebay.us/COctQ0

The Above Are Affiliate links where I will get a small percentage of the final sale cost which will help me find this channel

If this video helped you out how about leaving a tip?

Good video, thanks.
On my Jaguar XE Prestige 20D AWD, I replace the oil and filter every 5000 miles (and I also use the factory oil) and I like to use CERATEC by Liqui Molly every other oil change… I’m not saying you have to do this, that’s just the schedule I run on y personal XE 20D.
I replace the air filter every 10000 miles, since we live in the southwest of the USA and here in the desert we have plenty of dust and sand blowing.
Cabin filter I do every 5000 miles and that’s the only filter I don’t use the JLR because I found this one: (Purolator PBC35667 PurolatorBOSS Premium Cabin Air Filter with Febreze Freshness) to perform better, it has an extra layer and they smell neutral and very fresh!
The diesel filter I use also original JLR and normally do every 20000 miles, I use pure diesel purge from Liqui Molly to prime the filter….
(IT HELPS TO WITHOUT STARTING THE CAR TO PUSH THE STOP START AT LEAST SEVEN TIMES AND LET THE PUMP FILL THE SYSTEM).
These are not fun to replace… hihi… :o)

The cabin filter could have been engineered a bit better as well, each time having to remove the glove box, a quick tip, when that flat is down where the air filter sits, put the fan all the way low, and when you push the stop start just for a second, that flat will lift up…. (without the “crack”).

WE ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS! We always learn!

If you ever do a radiator flush on the Xe, please do make a video!

Thanks to you, I know how to drain and refill the DEF :o)

Thanks, and cheers!

That is very helpful mate, thanks for making this video.

@alexhorn218 says:

Thanks for the video! I’ve used it a couple of times to service my 2017 XE. I was wondering if you’ve been able to find any kind of factory recommended service interval that includes things like brake, transmission, or diff fluid flushes?

@andyburkett133 says:

Stumbled across your video excellent presentation. I don't own a jag but appreciated the way your helping people out. Good luck to you…

@abdelhakjamil-i8z says:

how long does it takes for a new oil change after buying a new jaguar xe ?

@723matthew07 says:

I always pre-fill/soak the new oil filter before installing.

@bishen67 says:

Wouldn’t it be easier to change the fuel filter wit the engine cover removed. .?

@vredacted3125 says:

22:53 you don’t seem to have pulled back that white sleeve you’ve pushed back whist removing the old filter

@garymiller7218 says:

It says oil is 0w20 in manual and oil cap will it matter mine is petrol

@MyAgrael says:

Oil change every 3500 miles . Cost me only 120£ . Molly oil . Better safe than sorry

@verdw6587 says:

I agree with the 10,000 mile oil change, 20,000 to long for this engine.

@PoppyGSweet says:

Brilliant, make it look easy mate! Ball ache that cabin and fuel filter

@paulmcpake2734 says:

Can i ask what alloy theese are

@Tofaeal says:

Gained a new sub, this was such a quick and straight forward video. Thank you so much mate. I was wondering if you have a video on replacing spark plugs and coils on this car?

@therealBozoDjTrump says:

Do you need to make sure you precharge the oil filter and do not put a dry oil filter in and oil the o-ring. Just soak the oil filter in a clean container for a half a minute at least best to fill up the oil before you put the filter in through the oil filter chamber, you put a dry filter in your getting no capillary action there's a delay because it's dry can be up to 10 seconds of engine running
how much was your scissor lift? You didn't put the shroud back

@trevorlayton9407 says:

Be great if you would work on a xe petrol 250

@jatinchavan5360 says:

Amazing video! Have you happened to ever try an electric oil extractor? If yes, does it need to be extracted via dipstick or some other way because I don't think you can put the extract pipe straight away in the oil change hole (where you put the new oil)? Thanks!

@AL-wx3xs says:

Hi Track & Beyond, Which Break Fluid do you recommend for the use in this type of Jag XE?

@fgcvhhbvjhbj says:

Any transmission oil videos please?
