Jaguar X Type Front Strut Change – the hard way.

Jaguar X Type Front Strut Change – the hard way.

A long film about changing the front suspension strut on a 2001 Jaguar X Type 2.5 V6 Petrol Manual. This film shows several ways of trying to undo the rusted pinch bolts before drilling it out. The strut was replaced by removing the wishbone (which can be a nightmare job in itself) but that meant that spring compressors were not needed.

Derek Taylor says:

Great video. How much would it cost manufacturers to simply use everything underneath a car in stainless steel? Just think how easy this job would have been and all the other jobs you've struggled with.

Matthew Jackson says:

That does not look fun at all. Good job there.
