better and SAFER stringing without stringer :

hold your xbow at one limb and let the other limb touch the ground (
groundside limb with bowstring prepared/hooked in ), the stock should be
located between your legs , and now you just sit down at the stock so that
your weight does all the work and gets the groundside limb under pressure

and now you can EASYLY hook the other end of the string in position 😉

hope its understandable and i could help a bit
i wouldnt reccomend dryfiring ( even with a longer stringer and less energy
its not good for any bow )

regards from bavaria

fax701 says:

con questa corda è uguale a un dryfire con corda normale? l’ho fatto anche
io,si danneggiano i flettenti?

kerry mcmanus says:

Dry fire is insane,it could snap the prod & do serious injury.

tomaf says:

i have an 80 pound pistol crossbow. i plan to buy a regular crossbow string
and keep tying knots in it til it is short enough to work as a stringer

Johnny Evans says:

Just got a cross bow the stringer is very tough is this just because the
crossbow is new? thankyou

Sean Martin says:

Do stringers come with the bow?

TheBazFella says:

Beeswax will extend your string life enormously; everyone has their own way
of doing it but I only wax the bowstring from the ends to about a quarter
inch onto the serving, so you dont get wax on your rails 😉

edward simm says:

and i can not draw it by hand because it is too strong

LetMeSee2Plz says:

You know, you should NEVER dry fire a cross bow, with a stinger or with a
regular string..this can cause the bow to crack or break entirely. Always
let the string down easy, especially when re-stringing a crossbow.

Adam C says:

Nice one mate. I remember when i purchased my crossbow it came with a metal
rope stringer.

alexlanderos43 says:

Please don’t dry fire like that. I fear for your safety if you have a
misfire because the limbs break.

Weaponsandstuff93 says:

less time consuming than annoying than trying to do the crossbow by hand,
especially I imagine if you’re trying to string a 175lb+ crossbow.

Weaponsandstuff93 says:

Thanks, yeah they’re a life/time saver when it comes to stringing crossbows.

Mafia (Private) says:

I have that exact crossbow.

Weaponsandstuff93 says:

Yeah I noticed when I started using it on the 150lb crossbow it went from
almost frayed and near death to surviving far longer as the wax stopped it
deteriorating so fast, the string eventually gave up as one of the end
loops got too wide so it didn’t stay on properly.

Weaponsandstuff93 says:

No idea exact number, I’m guessing at least 150 shots.

thatguywiththeegg says:

I always seem to run in to you when using youtube fellow /k/omrade. Out of
curiosity, do you leave your crossbow strung when not in use or do you only
string it when you are going to use it?

Weaponsandstuff93 says:

This crossbow uses 26″ inch strings, I think the stringer is either 27/28″
I would measure it for you but I can’t find it atm. Once you cock it with
your own stringer, could you possibly then apply more force to one of the
limbs to get it that last bit of length? If you apply enough weight to the
inside of the bow to either the left or right side of the front of the
crossbow you should get more leverage on it.

Weaponsandstuff93 says:

Is the stringer too wide for the nock?

MrAlbanyrick says:

thanks for the video, it’s very helpful. i have a crossbow similar to yours
but the butt on mine is solid not open like yours. i have ordered a
stringer and i should receive it in a week. i can’t wait, nnow all i need
is a target.

Weaponsandstuff93 says:

The instructions tell you to dry fire it.

Weaponsandstuff93 says:

Cheers, if it makes anyones life easier with a crossbow that would be good,
as I never knew about stringers until after I first managed to string the
150lb, had to get two people to sit on each end of the prod. Which is
actually a very fast easy method if you have other people to help. Then
when the 120lb came I tried doing it by hand and managed to get the string
on skewiff so ended up ordering a stringer to sort it out, the bit of time
pissing about with a screwdriver at the end is still far

Dianaranda123 says:

What is the length of a stringer compared to the actual bow string though?
I made my own stringer but i came like 2 or 3 mm short after cocking the
stringer…I just couldnt get it over the edge.

edward simm says:

i am can’t draw the stringer because it comes loose from the nock

dynd says:

After approximately how many shots/uses did your old string give up?

Weaponsandstuff93 says:

I leave them strung as with modern fiberglass limbs it’s not a problem a
wood limb bow would need unstringing however.

Abdul-Qadir taylor says:

Great job mate i would never have thought of that!!!!

TheBazFella says:

Very good. Its amazing how many people who own crossbows dont know about
these. Good on you for sharing mate.

Weaponsandstuff93 says:

twist the noose of the stringer a few times to make the hole smaller.

Weaponsandstuff93 says:

That’s useful, all my crossbows have basically been like. Instruction
manual. 1.Bend bow 2.Loop over string
