Claroboy911 says:

I actually feel a little like clunk I guess I can say. When I accelerate.
Can this be it? Also can u tell me what the unit is called and what other
syntoms it has when worn out. My car shakes when I accelerate only (at
40mph) besides the sort of clunk click when I accelerate from 0mph

Jerome Samuel says:

Scotty I have a 2001 Toyota Camry I have a knocking coming from the driver
side. I inspected and found the control arm bushing looked shot. I repaced
the control arm, ball joint, outer rod end, and the the sway brace rod on
both sides and the clunking sound is still there. I have struts that are
only a few months old. Any advice?

mark donnelly says:

I am only new to trying and fix up my cars and before my next project I
just want to confirm with you. I have a hyundai santa fe 2009 model. When I
turn right the left hand front wheel is knocking at me. Is this bushes or
something more? Cheers Mark

Goat Worship says:

Glad I visited this channel, before it’s too late!!

Craig Fairman says:

my car will clunk going over bumps, or seems like something loose in the
front on both tires after passengers are in my car. This last for 2 days
then magically goes away when i drive alone. I plan on taking it to a
mechanic but I wanted your thoughts on it. Thanks Scotty!

omar k says:

Adrian Cosgrove says:

This video and related video content is a joke. Good luck trying to
diagnose any actual problems with these ‘assistance videos’..

ThrashForceOne says:

Hey there Scotty!
On my last car inspection I got a note for a worn ball joint on the front
right lower control arm, and I’ve replaced it 3-4 times since I bought it
in ’10. I suspect something is wrong with the wheel alignment because the
wheel bearing on the forementioned side has play now, and I replaced that
the last year!
What things could cause unusual wear on one side of the vehicle?

Naomi Guillory says:

scotty should i be able to move the outer tie rods and sway bar links with
my bare hands?

Brandon Turner says:

Thanks for the video, my 06 sonata makes this noise. I had a feeling that
it was the control arm.

Elwyn Carrol says:

Hey Scotty I have a clunking noise in the front end of 2004 dodge neon sxt
I replaced the struts, stabilizer bolts, lower control arms, wheel bearings
on both sides and new cv axles what else do you think I need to do.

I bet you were pretty excited to do the outtro on this one :)

Ian Knau says:

Hey Scotty, I noticed you didn’t mention anything about tightening to
torque spec. Do you not bother with torque specs for most things when
you’re doing repairs or did you just not bother to mention it? I’m just
curious if I’m overly anal about getting the correct torque on everything.

reso1349 says:

Nylock nuts on ball joints yikes!

Love your videos. I do believe in safety first, but I also believe in life
and love. My Grandpa made hunting tree stands out of scrap wood and tie
down straps. Why? Because he wanted to die hunting! Mr. Kilmer clearly has
a passion for cars, if he felt threatened by his tactics he would change
them, he is ONE with the vehicle and tools that assist his excellence.
Confidence is what creates beauty in the least amount of time!

JSokil says:

Scotty, Might want to mention to folks that after removing a lower A frame
that the car will likely require an alignment

Lukasz Cholewinski-Hoareau says:

shouldnt you do inline after changing the trailing arms ?

guuba gaaba says:

too damn bad that every car just doesn’t fall apart like the one’s that you
work on ,i wish they did !!!! be real man !!!!

calvin1966vintage says:

I’m glad you trust your car jack! I recommend additional axle stands while
yanking parts around, with your head underneath hundreds of kilos of
car….

Michael Sackstein says:

time for an alignment?

Munur Yilmaz says:

Lol you’re amazing, but I wish I had the tools to do it myself :(

redakdal says:

hey scott, chris again, my father has this problem, but it clunks when your
sometimes on the road, and you break heavily, could this be the exact
problem as this car? and how bad will it get if we don’t fix it, like
always, I love your channel, very simple how to’s, it kinda makes a
mechanics job seem easy if you know what your doing

Christopher Noblitt says:

+Scotty Kilmer Has anyone ever told you that you favor John Lennon? lol

david stanic says:

Hi there Scotty, I’ve been watching your video’s and think many of them are
very informative and let people know what to look for when servicing their
vehicles. I’ve had a knocking noise in my front suspension every since I
had my manifold changed to a high flow extractor’s 1/3/4 inch and 100 cell
catallac converters whcih are 3 inch in my 2007 Holden Ve SSV sedan which
is the same as a 07 Pontiac G8 v8. There seems to be a metal to metal noise
clanking.
I’ve had the D Bushes on the sway bar changed along with brand new shock
absorbers and strut top mounts on front changed to new ones. Also just had
it serviced and looked at by suspension specialists at a shop but to no
avail. It seems to me that ever since the Headers went in there is that
clanking noise every time I drive over cats eyes.
Would you have any idea’s on what it could be? The bushes I have are all in
ok condition and the exhaust system is new and is very tight with pretty
much no wobble to it.

Any ideas’s would be appreciated.
Thanks

Aaron Maines says:

Scotty I need your help with a diagnosis,
My father in law’s 1999 Honda Accord. The car would start up and
immediately die if not revved. Sometimes it would die while driving. I
replaced the alternator belt because it was squealing. The battery was
replaced recently and test fine. The alternator also test fine. I noticed
the ignition switch had a recall on this car. Here is where my problem is.
When installing the ignition switch 2 things happened that I believe could
have cause a problem. 1) The previous ignition switch sparked when taking
it out and that “spike” went into the surrounding metal of the switch and
possibly the frame under the dash. The key was in the “0”position and the
harness was still plugged in. 2. I moved the plastic switch location of the
new ignition switch to get it to mate properly. RESULT – after installing
the new ignition switch the car will not even turn over….nada….nothing.
(before installing it started and drove)

Scotty you’re awesome.

straightcleaner says:

Ive had a few mechanics say everythings ok with my car underneath. Yet when
I drive , my drivers side theres a knocking and grinding most of the time
underneath. Its driving me nuts!!! Also losing power steering fluid a
little, dont know if thats connected..

Breathe GUD says:

1:47-1:51 Applies towards many real life things.

cruyeda says:

In ’76, I bought a ’75 Chevy Monza from a Chevy Dealer. The car had 12K
miles on it and looked brand new. After a couple of weeks, I heard a
clunking sound whenever I stopped. I checked the suspension and everything
looked fine but I did notice overspray under the hood. I suspect the car
had been in a collision.. After 3 years, a friend of mine wanted to trade
my Moza for his ’68 Vette with a blown engine. We nade the trade but I
warned him of the clunk. Eventually, the doors got harder to open so he
lifted the car and discovered the subframe was separating from the body.

Scotty Kilmer says:

I use an oxygen acetylene torch, they always work.

psluver says:

If the car falls on Scotty, the car doesn’t break him, he breaks the car.

Scotty Kilmer says:

many things can do that, but worn ball joints are common on that model,
jack it up and pull on the wheel and see if you can feel and see play on
suspension parts like the ball joint

butchtropic says:

It’s cheap insurance as I paid $25 for a set and always use ’em when I’m
under a car. I had a High school buddy get killed wrestling with a rusty
muffler, car came off the jack and crushed him.

Scotty Kilmer says:

second gear synchro is wearing out, just baby it, I had a car like that I
drove 4 years that way, then sold it still running.

shaun philpot says:

since when did .john lennon work on cars ? btw you’re awesome 🙂

Scotty Kilmer says:

On some vehicles that’s helps, not needed on this one.
