My friend David in the USA has been trying to source heater flaps for his Jaguar XK 150 for some time and it seems their not available so we came up with the idea of using new E Type flaps and modifying them to fit.

That's the very reason I did not buy a bigger tire for my spare I bought the original size and the cheapest I could find, after all it is only used in emergency and probably will never be seen.
I acquired my 140 in 1989 completely dismantled and minus an engine, another part missing was a drivers side door hinge. This was of coarse unobtainable so I had to make one . Fortunately the XK hinges are fabricated but it was still quite a mission.
Nice job David
Knowing Jaguar the reason for the heater change would have been to save cost. The design of my early S1 4.2 EType had no relay on the radiator fan motor (unlike early 3.8’s) which must have saved them about sixpence. Caused all sorts of problems and they had to put it back on later cars.
