You should put the 2 missing screws into the cartridge connector, they will
reduce stress on the solder joints when pulling out a cartridge, good job
on the soldering. The green goop is solder flux, no big problem
Sort of funny that your ‘sure thing’ replacement board was bad while your
‘risky’ socket replacement turned out fine.
