Excellent video, very useful info to have and know!

XArmy187 says:

you don’t have to stagger the rings, rings spin in the cylinder when the
motor is turning over/running.

Awesome vid. Other than his voice sounds like mr rogers telling a bed time
story or something. Great vid very basic and easy to understand

sbdem1986 says:

Funny when you click on a professional video that says “Piston Rings – How
to Install” but never shows how to install the piston rings.

Bosmob says:

Does anybody know which direction a piston ring should be installed if
there is a flange on the side of the ring?

imautuber444 says:

how can you install the piston, you havent shown us how to install the ring

Flippit1303 says:

@psingone You are right. Thats the exact reason you stager them. Yea the
rings will move around but the chances of them lining up with all the gaps
in a row are very slim if at all. I have built motors (racing and street)
since i was well…. since i could remember. Over 24 years.

Larry Grimes says:

The Bob Ross of automotive!

Richard Williams says:

I thought you did have to stagger to prevent all rings from lining up which
would cause blow by and compression loss? Just curious

yz100f says:

my yamaha 1979 yz100f 2stroke says book 1 on top of piston and has like a
13 digit number on top whats this mean standard? arrow faces exhaust tho
dood

370Zulu says:

OMG, Bob Ross you guys read my mind. That’s exactly what I was thinking
too!…We’re just going to go ahead and put these happy little rings here.
Just like that, that’s perfect!

subscribe to my channel as I will be making a lot of videos this year. soon
I will make my own video on how to install rings, bearings, and such as I

eamh2002 says:

@cobrachoppergirl Rotary 😀

marek0086 says:

@youngdones~ it means you’re getting strong detonation!

Chris Simo says:

I dress the ends of the rings after filing. A slight bevel to the sharp
edge helps prevent the ring from machining the cylinder wall

DulferCarter says:

He switched to the sound quality where only dogs can hear.

McShredder101 says:

hey i just got a piston and rings for my kx250f how long till i break it
in????

netefrog says:

@youngdones The rings seal off the combustion chamber air tight to allow
the compression to build for a proper burn of the fuel.

This guy sounds like he’s talking soft to his gay friend while getting the
