The diesels i work on, obviously have more oil pressure than a gas engine,
but a detroit diesel series 60 in the shop i work at idles just below 90
psi of oil pressure.
Like Toyota cruise control! That is impressive oil pressure. My truck
always shows about 40PSI or less when hot idle. And the Volkswagens use BAR
pressure rating which I won’t convert or worry about but its around 3 BAR.
I noticed your instrument cluster has a spot on it that indicates what side
the fuel door is on and I just can’t get over how neat that is.
Let er rip Tyler!!
the ideal pressure(atleast in my opinion) would be about 45-50psi at idle
when the engine is warm.
DOHC….
My Toyota is the Same
that’s damn good pressure. I was lucky if I could get 25lbs of oil pressure
in my old beetle.
The cars here in the UK don’t have oil pressure gauges, so I don’t really
know what the ideal PSI of a car’s oil pressure is. I’ve always thought
that the higher the better because it means that the engine isn’t as worn.
