Isuzu Bighorn 4jg2 timing belt / cambelt replacement DIY part 1

Isuzu Bighorn 4jg2 timing belt / cambelt replacement DIY part 1

Winter season and our girl is due for maintenance. I reckon she can still run for the next 10,000kms but i don’t wanna take the risk of getting a belt snapped during a trip so i seek the masters in Isuzu worldwide to help me out do a DIY on timing belt. I hope people who watch this video will find it very helpful.

Firstly, thank you so much for this video!! Secondly, what year is this and how did you find part number for your belt?

Thanks a lot for doing this. I was able to replace my timing belt in my garage thanks to your video. Saved some money and learned some things in the process 😀

Just if someone wonders, the threaded rods that connect the water pump to the pulley and the fan, you have to take them out of the old one and place them on the new one. Use 2 nuts tightened against each other to do so. Of the 8 holes the water pump has ONLY 4 ARE AT THE RIGHT PLACE, the other 4 are slightly more inwards. If you miss this and place the rods in the inner holes, you won't be able to mount the fan. This didn't happen to me, but I didn't realize the diferent position of the holes at first. I got lucky and by chance placed them on the right place.

Thanks again, I will subscribe and I hope you record more DIY stuff for this vehicle, it's very helpful!

What size and thread are the bolts you used to hold the two pulleys in place around 8:37?
