THis video probably has no point to most viewers… it’s more for some close friends to go back in time to see how ‘we use to be’. All of us no longer look t…

wastelandprovince says:

i was thinking about lifting my 97 rodeo got any suggestion

bacalhau75 says:

it’s been over 10 years, hopefully Calmini changed their ways, because
their tech support sucked!!! nothing bad with the lifts, but i got their
sway bar kit which did stiffen the truck, but the stock U bolts broke off
with a months time. they used some Thin bolts i think made of butter, so i
had to get some new ones made. imagine ths 50lbs bar falling off on the
highway!!! they didn’t care about my concern/advice, they said i isntalled
it wrong!!!

Daniel Faulkner says:

What did you use to lift your rig? I have a 96 and go mudding all the time.

clintmaggard says:

how big are those tires with the 3 inch lift ?

bacalhau75 says:

ahhhh didn’t know you had a YouTube account 🙂 yea, besides car stuff i
post whatever i think brings back memories 🙂

Andrew Martino says:

HAHA!! wow.. lol

Patrick3024 says:

i have a 89 isuzu spacecab LS i want to lift it what are me options

User says:

AJKDSF;LASKJF;LKAJSF LOLOLOL That whole video i was waiting for that 90’s
Techno. lmao! ofcourse right at the end they had it hahaha omg too good.

bacalhau75 says:

about 15 miles to the gallon read the above comment… you got to worry
about the rear gears if you put large heavy tires. my advice would be sell
the rode and either get an american truck to lift or possibly a toyota, but
depending on the size, you might want to change your gear ratios

bacalhau75 says:

can someone please tell me how i’m plaing illegal content from UMG?? if
anything I’m advertising the music. THis is a recording from 1998 pre MP3’s
on video, with no audio soundtrack… i don’t get it?

WildmanBorneo says:

nice one

BuhundredReturns says:

i wanna go back to the 90’s.

bacalhau75 says:

@wastelandprovince – i would recommend not to do it :)… if you extra cash
laying around that you don’t expect to get back, sure go for it. a Rodeo’s
body is ‘thicker’ than a toyota. when i first saw a toyota pick up truck
with a 3″ lift and the big tires, i thought i would get the same with the
Rodeo… but no, 2 kits later, $1000 spent, i still had to cut the fenders
and bumper, i snapped the rear axle 3 times (big heavy tires).

acismyhero says:

Hey can you tell me what size tire you are using? I have a 94 isuzu and am
thinking about getting the Calmini lift kit but want to know how big of a
tire I can go with.. Thanks

bacalhau75 says:

i put on 33×14.50 on 10 inch wide rims (15×10). the tires rubbed a bit with
both the suspension and body lift, but that must makes it cooler right? i
bend a bit of the fender in, and saw off a piece of the bumper (it’s
plastic)… the big tires caused the rear gears to break 3 times (went
through 3 rears, both 4:30 and 4:55 ratios). also one time all the wheel
studs broke off while doing 80… you sure you want to put big tires on
your rodeo? make sure you got extra cash!! 🙂 have fun!

fontanamotorsports says:

man, this video brought me back! i have some VHS-C tapes i have to convert
for the same reason as this..the JErky Boys…LOL

bacalhau75 says:

Mickey Thompson’s Baja HP’s 33×14.50 HP’s are the street version of the
ones with the V treads. my thought on this, they don’t wear down as
quick… but these tires weren’t that great in the sand as 2WD… i got
stuck once in a sandy parking lot doing a U turn… the tires had no
horizontal slits in the tread, only vertical :)… but they looked dam
sweet 🙂

bacalhau75 says:

no, back in the 1990’s it was the thing to have – GTS headlight / tailight
covers. at night you couldn’t see shit, but they looked cool during the
day!!! on a positive note, they do prevent headlights from getting sun
burnt… but since this doesn’t seem to affect every vehicle out there it’s
hard to tell when you need them and for what car.

sabhacker101 says:

hey man iv got a honda passport (same car just diff name) and its
compleatly stock and i was just wondering to get it ready for off road what
should i do to it ? so far iv got : 3″ suspention+body lift, new off road
tiers,and mabe its a 2wd auto convert it to a 4wd manual?

bacalhau75 says:

you either must be rich or just have lots of time on your hands :). don’t
mess with a 2WD truck, sell it and get a 4WD. if i woudl do it again i
would have sold my Rodeo and bought a full size American anything with
solid axles. much easier to lift and lots of power. my rodeo was under
powered and with the big tires it woudlnt move much. it was fun at the
time, it was unique. if you got cash, then put solid axles and drop a V8 in
it.

Carl Gammon says:

Great video … very informative

bacalhau75 says:

I’d say, don’t do it – sell it and get a truck that will look cooler with a
biger lift. if you are going to do it, this video shows the suspension lift
installation which isn’t bad, just takes time. the body lift isnt’ bad
either, but remember to release the Ebreak and you have to cut 3 things and
weld a 3″ tube to make up the difference to the steering column, stick
shift and 4×4 shifter. both lifts took pretty much all day (15 hours or
so). in the end, it looked like a stock toyota!!

bacalhau75 says:

@mik12788 – i’m sure Ebay, if not – go to Google, drop down to froogle, and
that’s how i find cheap tires. 33×14.50 Mickey Thompson’s Baja HP’s.

bacalhau75 says:

i didn’t know what had happened when they broke… the truck sunk down and
made noise, so i pulled over to the shoulder. then it looked liked all
broke but 1. i only realized they all broke when the i jacked up the truck
in my driveway… the wheel fell to the side… that’s when i realized how
lucky i had been. a flat bed tow truck picked it up and put it down at my
house and the wheel never separated. i’m guessing the deep dish rims kept
the axle “in”.

rezolution93 says:

i have a 92 rodeo with a chevy blazer engine. LOVE IT! its a 5-speed 4×4

RickDiggler7 says:

Yeah Jerky Boys….. This is Sol Rosenberg……. lol

bacalhau75 says:

my 92 Rodeo came stock with 31’s. 31×8. i believe the gear ratio was the
4:10’s. there were 3 axles ratios back then… if you have the same ratio,
then 31’s should be ok. my tires were 33’s on 15×10 rims with a deep
offset… therefore the center of the rim didn’t ride on the axle, which
explains why the studs broke, and the axles broke driving normally… once
i got the big tires i never went off roading. also, you’ll ride out the
gears longer (waste more gas).

wolvenancestry992 says:

@bacalhau75 i got a question, in the 97 rodeos they got that button that
says somethin like power or somethin and u can pull with it, is that like
the 4WD button?

bacalhau75 says:

@danfau07 – back then only one company made lift kits for Rodeo’s –
ww_w(d_ot)Calmini(d_otc_om) now i think there are others. have fun, but i
wouldn’t use a rodeo again unless i were to put two solid axles in it, and
possibly more HP. it was cool back then, since no one else had a lifted
Rodeo

rudedogii says:

Nice Jeep! Where did you get that custum horn button?
