The Mrs Witherspoon says:

I enjoyed your video and the banter. But I’m scared to try this myself.
I’ve taken my van to two separate mechanics and got two separate
diagnostics with two completely different results except for the EGR valve.
Now I’m nobody’s mechanic but I’m willing to try. On a five star scale with
5 being the hardest. How hard is this job, because I can’t seem to trust
either mechanic or their computers to tell me the full truth of what’s
wrong. Also, do you have any fixes for the ABS light being on. If so can
you post the link when you comment.

Steve Miller says:

I LIKE the Ron Paul poster.

Josh Cosco says:

This was a great help. I just got code p0405 in my 2001 Monte Carlo and
these engines are in the same family of course so all that should be the
same.

RicardoRedefined says:

<.< dude, Mr. Brian I hope you know how much help your videos are. I work at Advance, and we get this code and this problem a lot. It's great to know a little bit more about problem in general. I hate to have to sell parts my customers don't need.

briansmobile1 says:

I hear ya! I could have benefited from wiggle testing this one.

spelunkerd says:

Another very classy video, with a clear message that we all heard, check
your connections. Experience will often make diagnostics faster, because
you’ve seen a similar problem before. But it can also be a trap because you
can initially miss a more unusual diagnosis.

Cool! Nice disco ball in the garage.

briansmobile1 says:

Legacy and T100 3K miles. Dodge 6K miles. (diesel)

briansmobile1 says:

Well thank you very much!

Mike Loucas says:

Putting a fan feed pulling as much as 15A under load together with other
wires is a REALLY poor idea, you wouldn’t see that on a Volvo 850 or V70
(though there is bad stuff on Volvos that Chevy wouldn’t do) Guess it evens
out….

briansmobile1 says:

That’s up to you. A quote is a negotiation between parties. If it’s a
manual trans and they’re doing new clutch components that could be a really
good deal.

hondaveetc82 says:

Very nice intuitive video

Emma Gee says:

Nice troubleshooting lesson! Arizona??? When did you move from Florida?

Joseph Ferrerio says:

Hi Brian; Just wanted to say I beleive your instructional videos are
excellent!! Saw this Chevy Venture one and one on the ford windstar coolant
leaky pipe off the water pump. I’ve fixed my own cars since I was 16 (now
almost 40 yrs later; still fixing things). Your work is inspirational! Many
thanks and love your work!

briansmobile1 says:

True that.

be winter soon couple months or so could you possibly make a video on how
to get your car ready for the cold winter weather? Thanks and great work on
the vids

deepsquat600 says:

it wont hurt anything ..most likely won’t help..unless it is just a dried
out seal,,and the Lucus helps it swell..but if it is torn ..won’t help ..

r8er4everd says:

Hey brian in your next video, can you stand under the disco ball and twirl
around? I wanna see which gives the better reflection…LMAO Also the green
laser pointer gives to much reflection, Maybe try a IR type LED as a
pointer it should give better camera light. Maybe not as much glare.

briansmobile1 says:

I have some on my Aluminum spool gun review and on my five part series
Dodge Winch Bumper.

briansmobile1 says:

I couldn’t take the humidity- allergies you know.

SolidSnake2431 says:

MORE RON PAUL PLEASE! =)

briansmobile1 says:

Good for you man!

Joseph Delgado says:

Thank you!

Joseph Delgado says:

Thanks Brian

briansmobile1 says:

Thanks man- with that many miles it was due for an EGR valve anyway.

walker says:

Have an 01 ford ranger xlt 4×4 gettin charged $650 for rear main seal. Too
much?

briansmobile1 says:

I don’t recommend any additives. They wind up doing more harm than good.

briansmobile1 says:

There SHOULD be some TPS or MAF codes with that.

briansmobile1 says:

Is this intended to be a reply to someone else? I don’t associate the
two…

I have a 2003 venture and it had the head gasket under warranty and the
over torqued the bolts and now after paying to replace the front 3 bolts
now one in the back will cost me double as you can not get to that part of
the engine with out pulling the engine . It is sitting in my drive way now
for 5 months as I am a disabled VET and do not have the money and I can not
fix it myself . I also had a 91 camry but was rear ended putting the trunk
in the back seat thak god no kids in car I hate chevy
