If its split, you are toast. I would actually recommend going with a company like Raxles to order the complete axle and have it replaced, bulk of the $550 is labor. If you’ve been driving with split cv for a while now, your cv joint is probably not too far from needing replaced too.

What if i have a split? Volswagon said they would fix my front two split boots for 550.00$ can this stuff still help me or am i too far gone ? 🙁

John diy says:

Its one of those things where if you do it right then its worth every penny. If you mess it up, you are out $24. Amazon also has a great program where you can put the item in your “Wish list” and it has potential to come up in your ‘my amazon’ for really deep discounted price.

wow $24 dollars is expensive!
dont know if it is worth it>

John diy says:

yeah, absolutely! if you have the ability or the money you should replace the boot and restore it to factory spec. But, I tihnk everybody can agree that Immediate patching is still much better than driving around with a hole in your cv boot. I’m not even considering replacing my boot yet because the cv boot isn’t rotted and its in really good condition, other than some pinholes that I patched up. Still looks great.
