Or you just replace the damn cv axle like any decent mechanic will tell you
to .
I clean mine out with can of brake cleaner on the car. Then blow it out
with air. Rotating knuckle while cleaning with spray and them air. Then use
air or regular small grease gun, change end of gun to pin style. Then push
grease in to bearings and rotate as I grease. Put grease that comes with
boot in to bottom of grease gun first. Then fill with high temp bearing
grease. When you see different color black vs blue grease starting to run
out. Make sure to do bearing first before the grease runs out to the blue
grease on outer of bearing. Wondering if this stretch can be done on a
regular boot if heated in boiling hot water to soften it up so it will
stretch like a thinner stretch boot. Will try this week.
piss porr bs
too bad it stretch out and wont stay on or will crack soon bro
Ахуеть просто
Are these boots available in the U.S.A? I have not been able to find a
supplier.
Good deal for a shop, not for a diy
Wouldn’t it be so much easier if they developed CV boots that were open and
you glued the seam after you slid it over the shaft then let it dry while
it was on the car before putting it into position.
thats siiiick! never seen that before it saves mad time with the stretch
tool 🙂
cool
Hey dude I was kidding 😀
Wow, what a wonderful job you guys do repacking the joint. This is why I
see cars that have “new” axles failing after a year..
@JoeCnNd I think you would be safe. lol
thats cheating! lol
this is just a bad idea because without spiting the axle apart there is
just no way to properly clean the old grease and road contaminates
out(thats the important one) and you cannot properly repack the new grease
which without splitting the axle. The only thing you need is about an extra
15minutes, a vice and a sludge hammer
Nice video, don’t you wish even one vehicle came apart like that. He didn’t
even have to get out one torch, hammer, or bag of curse words!
wish i had that much open space when working on the truck!!!
Have a baby .
– have you actually had any experience with the product ?. i have been
looking into it myself and the they seem to have quite a good reputation.
we have advanced so far in technology we can have something like this that
actually works without sounding like science fiction. if it was though the
highly modified vehicles running around with silicon intercooler hose joins
wouldnt exist.
Nope.
holy crap. this guy can remove axle nuts with his fingers. I wouldn’t mess
with him.
Don’t buy this crap!! Usually things too good to be true, are really too
good to be true!
Really? So the so called “new” axles didn’t have grease from the
manufacture? Where you getting that from……Autozone haha?
I have done this tons of time without that tool. When I get the axle out, I
just take a rubber mallet and pop the joint apart, clean out the joint,
repack on the workbench, place the new boot on, place the joint back to the
shaft, give a few wacks with the rubber mallet. Never had a problem. Not to
say this tool isn’t cool. I guess if its around $150 I may give it a whirl.
How much more are the boots?
that special tool is not needed. these boots now come as a pair and come
with a plastic cone and packets of lubricating for easier slide over the
fitting cone . plus the special grease and retaining clips. There are three
sizes for the CV outer joint on a Seat Ibiza. These stretchy ones are
seemingly suitable for a wide range of CV joints. Great video. Not keen on
the black messy grease.
what if I drove about 30 feet then parked my car and know that’s when my cv
boot busted. I ripped it while I was putting wheel hub assembly on.
@nathansnation A CV boot should be replaced when it is perished, before it
splits open and allows road contaminants in. Before our CV tool was
available, CV boot replacement was often not cost effective and most
boots/joints were left to fail resulting in a higher cost and less
environmentally friendly shaft replacements a few months later. By using
our CV tool and boots, the life expectancy of a CV joint can be extended
considerably. That’s good for workshops, customers and our environment.
excellent video. no need to clutter it up and make it longer with seized up
nuts and tight joints.. a mechanic would expect those things as part of the
job. I have done a seat Ibiza 1.4tdi CV outer boot . biggest problem was
finding a thin wall 36mm socket to remove the driveshaft hub nut. This nut
has two shear off tabs which means it is a throw away item . I used a new
nut, but Loctite would work if a replacement nut was not available . Those
stretchy boots would be fab on a Peugeot 405.
Is that Carrot Top?
Did you guys know that you can also use a cone to slide the cv boot on. why
buy some big tool to do something so simple? use common sense people, by
the way im a woman 🙂
do I have to get wheel alignment done after that?
I guess it helps if you have the right tool…
LOL i know the aluminium bag is grease, but it looks like spacefood for a
astronaut
do not show this tool to proctologists 🙂
Thanks for the upload its good. i have replaced it for my car and charged
for £100, is it reasonable or i have overpaid for it…. ..
Can I use this to stretch my pussy???
