What year is this Rodeo?

elsantomayor says:

thanks for the video

batvette says:

but live close enough to the ocean where rust is an issue so about once a year I jack up my Passport and load my old school Binks spray gun with a mixture of motor oil and green marine grease and coat the whole underside except exhaust. Works wonders.

Re: vise grips holding piston while spreading the other side: If you aren’t replacing or resurfacing the rotor (as often as not my brake jobs on various cars just need a quick go over with emery cloth) simply do one side at a time. I’d also advise using a large C clamp to do this rather than prying like that, less likely to damage that piston.
Not to sound like a weinie but the bottom of your truck looks like ass! East coast or upper midwest? Guess it can’t be helped. I’m in San Diego (ctd)

In the old days we had to figure this stuff out for ourselves by trial and a lot of error. Thanks for making life easier for us!

I did not discuss at all the emergency brake system. The video was exclusively for the regular disc brake system only. You can briefly see the emergency brake shoes at 2:59 in the video. Their drum is inside the rotor/drum assembly that was removed to be machined.

WhiskeyFourNiner says:

So I take it by what you said at the end that the front breaks are esentially the same? That is, no special tools needed or anything?

Ammon Hartwell says:

Why didn’t you address the adjustment of the emergency brakes. I would think it is pertinent seeing that they are part of the rotor.

PhuckEverything says:

Do all Isuzu Rodeo’s use rear disc brakes? I guess my question is are they disc brakes all the way around? Thanks.

dude this is the best video about changing brake pads

retiredat60 says:

See the portion at about 1:30 after the caliper has been removed. then the pads should pry right out of the carrier.
