Thanks for this. It will help me a great deal for working on my FJ62. Wish
you put out Yota videos more often. Thanks again and have an awesome day!
Hey 4×4 people! I’ve been wanting to do this video for a LONG time! The
AISIN hub is a FANTASTIC manual locking hub for 4×4’s however, there’s a
very specific (non intuitive) way to reassemble the hub clutch. People
screw it up all the time and then their hub will lock, but not unlock.
Often they think the hub is broken and go buy an aftermarket hub. It’s an
easy fix with basic tools.
The AISIN brand hubs were spec’d on Toyota, Suzuki, Isuzu, and Mitsubishi
4×4’s for over 30 years so there are TONS of them out there.
Any way, this video just focuses on the clutch assembly. I’m going to do a
full tear down and reassemble video in the near future, but I thought this
process was worth having a dedicated video (because frankly, I couldn’t
find a good, clear video of this VERY important assembly on YouTube!)

Good instructions. One of my sami hubs is pretty loose, so I will be
viewing this again when I get around to rebuilding my axles.
Thank you for your videos, this is really going to help me out as I am
going through a 85 4runner I just acquired.
thanks Wheelie, Kai
