It is pretty easy. I remember I had rebuilt it once. I believe it is accessed from the bottom and is held in place by a couple of bolts. You will have to disconnect one electrical connector and possibly unscrew one, too. You can buy rebuild kits online and rebuild it, it’s much cheaper than a whole starter. There are good videos out there on that, too. Hope this helps.

Hey bro it ended up being the alternator, the regulator was on its way out, so replaced alt and no more brake and battery light, just one question is it easy to replace the starter on this vehicle?

Daniel Perez says:

Wow thank you so much, seems straight forward where every shop wants 500 dollars to do this.

You can buy a starter rebuild kit (there are plenty on Ebay) and rebuild it. They have good videos on that here on Youtube. The starter wouldn’t cause the break light to come on though. There might be an issue with your ABS or some other electronic component. You should probably have it diagnosed by an electrician.

Rafael Garcia Jr. says:

Yeah i checked the fluid and its topped off, went to advance and they told.me.it might be the starter, due to the fact that its grounding out, its showing.low voltage when.starting it

northwestern2002 says:

Those could be two separate issues. If they are related it could be an electrical issue. I’m assuming you have already checked your brake fluid level?

Hey bro another question hopefully u can help me, my 2001 passport started doing this, the brake and battery light would come on intermittently, not all the time, i changee the alternator like 4 months ago, went to advance auto parts and said its charging fine, would u know whats happening, thanks man

When I replaced them on this 2002 Rodeo I used Gabriel ProGuard from Autozone (they were $24.99/piece) and they seem to work fine. You can go a little cheaper (around $20/piece) or a little more expensive (around $30/piece). You can also get a set of 4 Monroe shocks on Ebay for around $120.00, those are pretty good ones, too. Hope this helps.

What shocks would you recommend on a passport/rodeo, i have a 2001 honda passport, and looking for shocks
