To fix it I removed the whole cluster, opened it up, return the needle to
its position and put everything back together. All in all around an hour or
maybe an hour and a half. Just remove the 4 bolts holding the cluster below
it and disconnect the harness.
After fixing the first time, it has happened again, but this time it was
fixed by itself a couple of days later. I guess I will be replacing the
battery soon, as this is said to happen when the battery is about to die.

How to fix?
This is what mine is doing -fx 35 2004. I fill up the tank and the gas
light is still on.
