+Jos Waterreus I am glad you are liking my videos! That is great you are
learning so much! The lower radiator hose and clamp are on correctly. You
have a good eye seeing that gap! I adjusted that when I did the final look
over but I appreciate the concern and for you letting me know! Thanks a lot
man, it is great to have others looking out for me!

Victor Medina says:

thank you god!

doworkscotty says:

have you changed the radiator in your mazda b3000/ford ranger? I was
curious, my radiator doesnt need to be replaced but when the time comes, I
wanna know how to do it. I like how you explain things and it makes sense,
other videos not so much.

WWaveform Creations says:

Those bitches at my Honda dealership quoted me $700 to replace the hoses.

Len Block says:

I’ve read that I may have an air lock in my radiator hose, but not sure.
I’ve chcked the fluid levels and they are good and I’ve squeezed the top
hose several time seems piable and maybe a little air but not much. The
reason I’m asking this is because the heater does not work. Is this it?
This is for a Mazda B2300 truck. The funny thing is the A/C works all the
time.

Richard Bullen says:

When the leak occurred did your engine suffer an idling problem or extra
fuel consumption?

nickycarts says:

Excellent video Chris. This exact same issue happened to my upper hose
about a week ago, it tore open very close to the engine, and following your
video I just completed this simple fix. Thanks again.

George Arteaga says:

This guy knows his stuff.

MrLanging says:

The nipple on my heater (outside firewall) was crushed almost flat when I
took the heater hose off. Not wanting to change out the nipple, with much
time and TLC, I was able to get it back to almost perfectly round, except
for the area near the circular ridge that the hose goes over. Using the old
hose clamps, now the joint leaks. I bought some screw clamps to try out to
see if it’s just the pressure of the clamp, but before draining the coolant
to do the change, I have a question. Is there any substance you know of
that I could spread on the outside of the nipple before re-installing the
hose so it will not leak for sure? And no, I don’t want to epoxy the joint
tight.

Gardy Marra says:

damn dude 300k miles and it’s still running? you da man!! my dodge ram has
265k miles on it.

Ed Zweiger says:

Is it true don’t use worm gear clamps on newer plastic radiators? Pressure
point under worm gear cracks plastic?

Robert Wilson says:

A local mechanic quoted me at 682 dollars to do this on an 02 Saturn,
that’s half the value of my car!!! Thank you for posting this video.

Anthony Martinez says:

I am having trouble placing back my radiator hoses on my chrysler sebring
it is a little more complicated then your example chris but maybe it is
just me by the way I love the how to videos they have helped me out a ton I
decided just last week that I want to become a mechanic (I know random huh
but it is a long story) anyways maybe any tips for a new guy???

inuamaru says:

This is a great video. I love how you explain every little detail. I’ve
read online that I should disconnect the negative charge of my battery to
do this procedure. What is your thought on that? I’m also not a car guy at
all, so once again, very helpful video.

GraveRobbertt says:

As someone who knows absolutely nothing about cars, auto jargon, and the
like, I thank you VERY much. Simple and helpful. You’re great, keep it up.

JOE FORD DIY says:

Hopper29340 says:

Bradley Smilo says:

I have a 92′ Eagle Talon with surprisingly only 71k miles on it.
Today on my way to class the top radiator house cracked and opened up and
steamed up. When I came back after class both hoses were flat although i
believe just the top on had a crack in it and was leaking. Can I just
change the one and then will the lower hose come back to full state once I
run the engine? Thanks in advance!

Mel Mor says:

thanks for that video man! my cousin and i found a whole in my upper
radiator hose of my ’04 dodge neon with 246k miles which caused a leakage
of fluid onto my engine which caused white steam to come from under the
hood like you explained. it conveniently happened as we were halfway to six
flags and many miles away from home. the gauge showed that the engine was
way over heated. we found the whole and taped it up with surgical tape. the
temp normalized and it saved my engine and my trip to six flags, but we
knew that was only a temporary solution. i was going to just take it to the
mechanic and spend the money but your video has shown me how easy it is to
install an upper radiator hose! Now i have a new radiator hose and that
$200 bucks the mechanic would’ve charged me still in my back pocket. Thanks
dude!

Vincent Stabile says:

Yep I hear ya. . I’ll def let you know. . I have another proposal for ya
lol. . If your interested I plan on switching the differential, I’ll be
buying the Dana36 complete with 3:54 gears installed from zip-corvettes,
I’m always pressed for time and you have to know what your doing with
shiming and all so I figured this would be an easy way out. They mail you
the new rear warrantied, swap it out and you send back the original. Let me
know if your interested and what you think or if you have any suggestions.
. Thanks! !

Nick Saras says:

chris the lower and top would this be the same for my 2001 Durango??
4.7 ltr

Matt Bono says:

Have you considered using silicone spray in lieu of wd40 when sliding the
new hoses on? in my experience, silicone spray works well with rubber in
this type of application.

Jos Waterreus says:

Hey Chris, just to say, loving your vids, I’m watching a lot of them
although I don’t even need them yet =) ready to replace my radiator after
your video, side note on this video, it seems the lower radiator hose and
clamp (radiator side) aren’t really on properly (at 11:23) seems the hose
is cut a little crooked and you might get some leakage out of it in the
future, I’m not a mechanic but after you vids starting to become one, just
trying to return the favor =D

Sarah Wersan says:

Thanks for the demnstration. I have better understanding of work steps that
need to be done.

Vincent Stabile says:

Hey thanks for getting Back to me! I Appreciate your honesty! I’m sure
you’re like me I do mainly all of my own work and im very couscous when it
comes to someone working on my car. I would confide in you, watching you’re
video’s it’s obvious you know what your doing and you’re very meticulous. I
noticed you had Jersey plates so on your red Vette so I figured i’d touch
base with you and see if were interested. Thanks again! Keep then videos
coming!
