How do I know if my window regulator or motor is bad?
Beyond your window simply being stuck and unable to move up or down, a few bad window regulator symptoms include:
Grinding or Clicking Noises While Rolling Up the Window.
Window Won’t Stay Rolled Up.
Window is Off-Center.
The Button Doesn’t Work the First Time.
Window Seems Sluggish.
Window Rolls Up Too Quickly.

Can you fix a window regulator yourself?
A shop will charge you at least a few hundred dollars to replace the motor/regulator, but you can do a window regulator repair and power window repair yourself in about four hours. Regulators are available online or at auto parts stores

This happens because of overuse, abuse or being overused in colder temperatures. Temperatures make a major difference on the use and wear on your vehicle, especially the cables. Worn out cable guides or a frayed window regulator cable can cause abnormal noises when the window is moving

How much does it cost to fix a window regulator motor?
If it’s just the faulty motor, then you’re in luck. The average time to replace a power window motor is 2.1 hours. You should expect to pay $120-$150 for labor plus the cost of the motor itself. It can usually bring the entire job anywhere from $200 to $300, depending on the make and model

Good job! and info, i do all the things you post to my car because it wasnt very maintained. Also spray silicone lubricant in the window rubber tracks and under the window and lock buttons. My windows went from slow to rolling quick. When the window rubber tracks are not lubricated it puts stress on the motor as well and wears out the whole regulator assembly..
