Front Wheel Bearing Assembly 2004 G35 Replacement

Front Wheel Bearing Assembly 2004 G35 Replacement

I decided to replace the front wheel bearing assemblies on the front of my 2004 G35 coupe with nearly 100000 miles. After doing some research and searching …

Oh, did you want to buy my car?…or know anyone that would?
Good to see you’re still following me…lol

mandapandzz says:

Haha! Love it :)

ProfRobBob says:

Yes they are ProjectMU. I have not replaced the rear bearings yet. As my car is celebrating its 10th birthday I am getting an itch to replace the entire car:D That stinks your stud broke. I was a bit nervous my maintenance project would end with my car disabled waiting for new parts to arrive or someone that would have to fix a mistake I made. I bought my parts from mynismo dot com. Just call and they will make sure you get the correct part. Grubbs Infiniti is great too.

Nice ProjectMU? Rotors. Have you had to replace the rear yet? I snapped a stud and the replacement that I tried doing ruined the teeth that holds the studs lol so I need to replace the hub that holds the studs. Where did you order your parts? And do you have a part number? Thx!

ProfRobBob says:

That’s awesome….thanks for the support! With the help of viewers like you…my wife and I are one step closer to reaching our dream of doubling our subscriber ranking:) Please continue to share my channel with others and watch us groW!

ProfRobBob says:

Thanks for watching more than math:)

Arm Darb says:

I’m going to like and favorite all your videos.

Arm Darb says:

Thank you very much!

ProfRobBob says:

I am teaching AP Calculus next year live, so no worries about more Calculus videos. I am doing or redoing the homework in every section I will have to teach and then doing notes and a video….unless I already have a video I’m happy with. I will probably only get a video or two done a week, but they are coming:)

Arm Darb says:

This is awesome! Please make more calculus videos!!

ProfRobBob says:

Thanks…That was kind of a spring break experiment. I did get good feed-back though, so from time to time I might add more but for now my after school time is currently being spent building my Calc playlist. Oh, and since I get so many comments on my writing, I had a viewer request that I do a video teaching capital letters, so I did post that video last week:) Thanks again for your continued support!

olivercube says:

I did like it! I think you are good in front of the camera and explaining things, so I think you can totally branch out to many subjects and topics in life.

ProfRobBob says:

Thank you:):):)

ProfRobBob says:

COOKING!!! I should have tole MSswishaha that I can’t cook very well either. It is a good thing I have a great wife to takes great care of me:D

ProfRobBob says:

Thank you! I must say this video is quite popular for being less than a week old. I may have to get some mechanic training and start a new channel. Tarrou’s Garage Talk:) I am going to have to finish my Calculus videos first though.

ProfRobBob says:

There is plenty I don’t know how to do…I can’t spell very well and thus lose at Scrabble every time I play!!! That is one reason I teach math:D I do like to work with my hands. I have laid tile, installed drywall, done plumbing work, minor automotive jobs, installed pavers…and photography is a hobby.

verdantblues says:

Hahaha. This is new. From Math to cars. =)) Awesooome. What’s next? Cooking, perhaps? 😀

cxgslegend01 says:

Yep I am with MrSeagull16. Go ahead and post whatever you want to.

LovingWildLife says:

I’m sure you can make all sorts of videos, keep it up!

MSswishaha says:

Is there anything you can’t do? 😉

MrSeagull16 says:

nah man, go for it, its your channel you can put whatever you want on it. but if you did want to make more (a lot more), a separate channel would probably be better just because it would be better suited to more people finding your car videos as opposed to the sea of math videos you have spawned. 😀

ProfRobBob says:

Yes. I saw that tip in another video. My left front bearing had rusted in to the suspension and was somewhat difficult to remove. The hub assemble slides in or needs to slide out about a 1/3 if an inch to be installed/removed. I didn’t care about damaging my old bearings by just banging on them…I did not want to damage my suspension.

GeneralMills66 says:

What was the point of the punch? was it to break the wheel bearing away?

ProfRobBob says:

Good to see you again! Can you tell I’m on spring break:)…and branching out with hobbies instead of just making new math videos?!

LovingWildLife says:

Haha awesome!!

ProfRobBob says:

😀 Thanks!!!

TeaJhey says:

You just got 10^150x cooler.

ProfRobBob says:

Thank you very much for the information and your support. I do not run ads for my channel. I only grow through the support of my viewers and subscribers, so thank you again:) Please spread the word!

gmperf425 says:

Just PM’d you a link

ProfRobBob says:

I hoped you liked it. I don’t want to dilute my math channel but I also didn’t want to make another channel for just a few car maintenance videos…maybe just make a playlist. Any feedback is appreciated. I make my videos out of enjoyment, but it is the support of my viewers and subscribers that has keeps me going.

ProfRobBob says:

I talk about torque a little bit when I introduce vectors:D I don’t intend on making enough car videos to justify making another YouTube channel…just a car play list maybe. I’m always open to suggestions!

ProfRobBob says:

I hope you don’t mind. My wife and I are a little concerned about putting a car maintenance video on my math channel. I don’t intend to do many of these…not enough to make a separate YouTube channel. At least I don’t think so…any thoughts?

ProfRobBob says:

Thanks for the tips. I love the fact you enjoy your car and I am sure are quite a good driver…I am sure better than me:) I used to do track days at Sebring but it has been years since I have been there. Miata are great cars. My friend that was helping me actually has one and his rear bump stops are gone. Do you know of any good DIY picture threads or a video we could watch to learn how to replace them on his car?

ProfRobBob says:

Thanks. I watched a video of someone removing the front hub assembly of a 4 wheel drive fx35 I think…and they removed the brake pads. Air tools would have definitely been quicker. I enjoyed the quiet zen of working with my our and tools though. Remember, I am usually in a classroom!!! haha

ProfRobBob says:

I hope you don’t mind the occasional random topic. We will be getting back to math with the next video:)

olivercube says:

I came to figure out some Calculus, I left knowing how to change a front wheel bearing assembly on a car I don’t have. Bam!

hwqayyum says:

idk why im watching this, but i feel like im learning math anyway

MrSeagull16 says:

talk about branching your channel out

gmperf425 says:

Excellent job. I just subbed to you for math advise and this video surprised me. I did wheel bearings and bump stops among other things on my Miata before the start of the track day season. They are much easier on my car. Research those bump stops, some aftermarket setups are designed to let the bump stop “float” so dust or dirt doesn’t get trapped inside it. Regardless, I replace bump stops every season, they are a great tuning too for some suspension designs.

Willia, Bryant says:

Nice job. Personally I don’t think there is no need to replace the bolts or use thread locker. To remove all the calipers I have worked on only required some mild prying with a large screwdriver and a small tap of a hammer. I’m also suprized the non brembo version requires pad removal. Just seems odd to me. Anyways nice job. Some air tools would really have sped up the service time.

Sonnie Huynh says:

Yes, I would watch your math videos but this time hahaha car ok =))

ProfRobBob says:

I appreciate the support very much:)

ProfRobBob says:

Thank you:):):)
