Also whats the worst that can happen with the strut? Should u take it back and get a new strut and have a lisence mechanic do it? The clank noise is getting a little louder! Just need some ideas cant figure it out hopefully you can run so ideas my way thanks

what about the misfire im having any ideas?

APXautoparts says:

I have seen this happen before when the mechanic did not put the coil spring in its proper placement (wrong clocking position or upside down) and then when you turned in a certain direction the coil spring was rubbing on something. You may want to have someone else turn the wheel while you look at the strut to make sure nothing is rubbing during the turning.

If that is not it, you may have a bad bearing in the strut mount.

I have a HUGE question to ask i have 99 nissan maxium i had someone put the struts in the front for me.. Now when i drive and everytime i turn left it makes a clack sound.. Could you give me an idea of what it could be?? And it also has a misfire i tried everything i think it could be i change the crank shift position sensors & knock sensors all 6 coil packs.. Could you give me an idea what i need to fix to get my car working proper again?? PLEASE! thanks!

As you see in the video, it is a very easy job but you just have to make sure you do things correctly and check your work. I’ve done this many times on my Maxima and even installed lowering springs. You can rent spring compressors from Autozone and just make sure you have all the sockets and wrenches you need to get thru it all. Use jack stands and keep the jack under the car for added safety. You will need to lift both sides of the car in order to get the struts in and out easily as well.

If you are going to do it yourselves just put safety first and make sure you use jack stands to secure the vehicle. As long as you make sure not to damage the brake line, the complete strut assemblies, does make it an easier installation, thought they are usually much more expensive to purchase and to ship.

Me and my husband have never worked on cars but need our struts change i have already bought the compleat assembly quick struts with the spring already loaded on the srut do you think we could do this ourselves? it looks easy especally with us not having to compress anything and really just take the old ones off and put these on.. is it as easy as you are making it look or do i have to spend the fourtan to get a machanic to do it.. we have a 99 maxima like this one
