Hello, I just moved to Texas I drove in my used car for 25 hours, when I
made it to Texas, my car was screaming loud when I started it, now my air
conditioner stopped blowing cold air. I am not sure what is wrong

Claroboy911 says:

Scooty I have a question is it normal that every time I pass a flood or big
puddles MY AC light flashes and turns off AC?

Mandy Mac says:

Hi there. Thank you for your video. I know nothing about fixing cars. But I
recently had my ac pump ( which I believe is the compressor?) replaced, but
not because my ac wasn’t working, there were other problems and my mechanic
said it needed to be fixed. Anyways I thought after my ac would start
working again, cause it hadn’t been working. So is there a real good chance
that my ac pump had a hole and was leaking the refrigerate stuff? And now
all I have to do is re fill up the refrigerate stuff ( freon right) sorry
for the long blab! But have been reading soo much about it. And I’m kinda
feeling lost! Any help, muchly appreciated! :)

Omar is Rad says:

just installed a new ac compressor, no leaks anywhere, properly filled, all
fuses good, but ac compressor clutch still not turning. at all. voltage
does read about 5volts. could it be the fan control module?

Isaac Rivrra says:

Hi Scotty I have an issue with my AC. It just wont turn on at all, it wont
blow out any air whatsoever do you have any suggestions? I have a 1996
honda accord

sublimefreak2244 says:

hey Scotty If i unhook a line I have to evacuate the system correct? Also
can I do an Initial charge of the system with one of those cans you buy at
the auto part stores?

Harry Richards says:

My ac or heat blower kills my battery not sure why but you can watch the
voltage drop as the car is running for about 10 minutes. Please any
solutions will help

BRYAN Tucker says:

I have a 05 chevy cobalt when I run the ac it leaks on the passenger side
floor board any ideas

I have been watching all of your videos whether I need them at the present
time or not. Knowledge is power, right? As of now, I am currently DRIVING
and restoring a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 and my newest project, a 2001
VW Beetle. Both are running so my problems are not pressing issues at this
time but I appreciate your videos mostly because you seem like a dork (like
me) and your “easy fixes” have already saved me time and money. Thanks for
all of your time. Good luck.

Steven Kremin says:

Scotty, love your videos. I have a 2005 Lincoln Town Car and when I turn
the AC on my compressor every few seconds spins then stops and keeps
repeating itself. Warm air is blowing out of the vents. I hooked a gauge up
to it and the needle drops to nothing when the compressor spins and when it
shuts off the needle goes up and keeps repeating. What should I do to
diagnose the problem?

Rick Lange says:

I have a 2005 Cadillac STS and cant get the trunk to open.. I checked the
fuss.

S Man says:

Hello Scotty, love all your videos. I have a problem with my 1998 Nissan
Pathfinder’s AC system. It recently started blowing hot warm air last
week. Sometimes, early in the morning it blows cool air and then later on
warm air. I took to friend’s house and he tested for me with his machine.
The compressor clutch does come on when the AC is turned on. It spins
freely when I turned it with my hand. So I took the car to my friend’s
house and hook it up to his machine to do a refrigerant level reading and
pressure readings. The refrigerant level is good, so there is no leakage
in the system. The pressure reading was 75psi (low side) and 170psi (high
side). The low side is too high and the high side is too low according to
my friend, who is certified with automotive AC system. He suggested that
it was the expansion valve that is wrong, so I replaced and have him charge
up the refrigerant again. It was cold at first for the first 3-5 min or
so? Then was warm again! The compressor clutch is still spinning along
with the compressor’s pulley. My friend said that sometimes the clutch is
loose and not compressing the refrigerant properly and can cause this! So
he suggested that I replace the compressor and the drier next! As I am
reading more and watched other videos, I am thinking maybe it is the
condenser being restricted some how. After watching your video of Flushing
your condenser is no use, I am thinking about just replacing the condenser
with a new one. My only concern is what if my compressor is still good? I
don’t want to spend the money and time taking it out and put a new one in
if I don’t have to! Is there a way for me to test the compressor that it
is still good? Have you had this similar problems before? Especially on a
98 Pathfinder SE? Any suggestions?

nayanank mahajan says:

Hey Scotty, I have a 2007 Jetta 2.5L. Everything was fine till 2 days back
when car engine started making loud noise when AC is on. I checked that
noise is not from the belt. If I turn AC off that noise goes. Even if AC is
on it comes for few mins and then stops itself and than starts again after
few mins and even stays after I turn off the car engine for like 30 secs. I
have no idea about car engine so afraid to directly take it to mechanic.
Can you suggest what it could be and how much would repair cost so I can
find a right place to fix it.

Hey Scotty I have a curious question I drive a 2010 ford 350 E-series super
duty xlt van the front ac blows great its nice and cold but when I turn on
the rear fan it blows warm or hot air all climate controls are in the front
dash of the vehicle any help would be appreciated cause I’m stumped lol
thanks

S Prado says:

My car blows hot air would you suggest I just go to a shop? This seems hard
to do buy yourself

Luc Dumouchel says:

Thank you so much for everything. I have a question. Is there a way to
trouble shoot a 4 pin high pressure switch?

Robo Vazquez says:

Thanks for this video. It’s great and pretty entertaining. I just
subscribed!

Jose Rodriguez says:

When i run my ac it keeps switching back and forth from the front vents and
top vents (defrost) why would this happen?

Lori Perez says:

Does the fans in the front on the car have to blow all the time or do they
only blow when its hot outside? My van is only blowing hot air

Tkbahaka says:

I bought A/C pro and messed my car up…. So the guy at the auto store
tells me to make sure the needle hits 45 in psi, typical for Hawaii. So I
went home, left my car running and unscrewed the low pressure cover then
attached A/C pro. immediately it reads 35 so I pull the trigger 10secs
checked again and repeated the process till it hit 45. So I was eager too
try my “COLD A/C” went into my car BOOM warm air. So at this point I’m
confused I plug the A/C pro back in, to get a reading on pressure and it
now reads 100psi 🙁 what do I do? auto repair store says 300$ to fix…..
help me….. some guy says too release the pressure just like a tire by
pushing on the pin -_-

ben kiong says:

Hi scotty, when i turned on my a/c the compressor clutch doesn’t give a
click sound. Is it because of my relay at the a/c switch?

SupermanStone420 says:

Hello Scotty what can cause air not to blow out of car vents fully the
motor is working but the vents only work fully when the knob is selected to
the “ac” spot when I turn it to max ac the air starts to restrict any
ideas? I drive a 1999 mercury mystique LS v6

William Ross says:

Hey, what does it point to if the a/c blows cold when the car is moving but
warm when idling?

Chris Brown says:

Hey Scotty, i have a 03 Dodge Ram 1500, the ac blows real cold in it but
the air preessure from the vents is not really hard, i checked the
recirculation door and it is functioning properly, i dont know what is the
deal with the air vents.

beotheguitarist says:

Scotty is great! Love all of his videos and he has taught me so much. Just
they type of guy you’d like to work with in a shop to learn all the tricks
of the trade!

Daniel Lopez says:

hi Scotty i have a 05 celica that when i turn on the ac it starts to click
evry couple of seconds what could this be? thank you

HeroDanny says:

“Not that expensive, only $50”
I could get a shop to fix the A/C for about that price..

Luis C says:

Hey Scotty, I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla S that had weak A/C. I added more
refrigerant to it using EZ-Chill but now the car blows out even hotter air
and began idling roughly as I was adding the refrigerant. I also noticed
that the can didn’t get cold as it has the last few times I added it to my
other cars.

Cyril Buss says:

This guy is cool.

casanovaevren says:

Hey scotty u are the only mechanic I dont fall asleep when I watch his
videos .thNk you

James Wittkoski says:

Hey Scotty, I have a 98 S10 and the ac stopped working. The ac seemed to
get warmer the past year and had to use Max AC to get any cool at all. It’s
stopped completely now. The ac clutch is not engaging. I hooked up a can of
refrigerant with UV die to check for a leak and saw the pressure was
already at about 48psi on a 90 degree day which was in range on the chart.
So basically clutch not engaging and low pressure looks good. Where do I go
from here?

soundwavs1961c says:

Hi Scotty.. Does running the a/c put strain in a cars engine? Especially on
older car? My Neon is 1995 almost at 100K . I”m getting by without the
a/c but if it does make the engine work harder I’d rather not get it fixed.

generalmotorssaturn says:

Dear Mr. Kilmer
quick Question. I have a 2000 Plymouth Neon with no AC I hooked up a
manifold gauge, and sure enough no pressure. I have taken a certified class
in AC, and know that your suppose to evacuate the system to remove any
moisture from the system, to prevent desiccant breakdown. However a vacuum
pump is a little pricey. But it is a necessary step. Any advise on where to
get an affordable vacuum pump? I dont want to take the chance of having the
desiccant break down

Thanks, Andy
