My 06 coupe shuts off randomly while driving. The service engine, vdc off,
and slip lights all come on. I’ve read it has something to do with cam
sensor. Any thoughts/help?

need help I have a 2011 Nissan sentra as I star driving the car maybe 5 mph
started shaking as the brakes were simulating a slide on ice vdc light off
turned on and remained on even though I tried to press vdc off also the air
bag light its flashing thanks

Do you know what color wires were hooked on the sensor red black and white
? Left, middle, or right

ReelTeaseFishing says:

your slip and VDC lights come on because your break pads are either
completely worn out or because they are low. if you buy new break pads it
should go away. but if you think your breaks still have a few thousands
miles on them you can add some break fluid and the lights will go away.
just remember that the fluid you put in, will have to be removed when you
install the new break pads. As far as I know it doesn’t have anything to do
with the crank shaft sensor.

ReelTeaseFishing says:

If the car is shutting of randomly it is most likely a bad sensor. Although
I cant tell you for certain, It does seem to sound like it is the
crankshaft sensor. The other lights might be coming on and off because of
the sensor. If you replace the sensor and your VDC and slip still keep
coming on, it might be time to replace your brake pads. If you believe your
breaks are still good, add some break fluid. (Beak pads and fluid is only
for the VDC and Slip light, not the car turning off)

ReelTeaseFishing says:

The Cam shaft sensors if that is what you are asking, which there are two.
One on the passenger side of the engine, and one on the driver side of the
engine. Both are located on the backside of the engine. So looking from the
front of the car with the hood open. look behind the engine, (the backside
of the engine near the front windsheild ) You should see the sensors, many
of them are a green color, but not all of them not sure why. Anyways If you
look in that area you will find them.

ReelTeaseFishing says:

Edwin, if your car is under warranty, I suggest you take it in to get that
fixed. if its not then try adding brake fluid, usually when the brake fluid
is low it will cause this type of light to come on. also a weak battery or
alternator can cause these sensor errors due to low voltage. check your
tires, if the tires are bald, or worn, low on air or if the tire allignment
is off it can cause this also. ( if the inside or outside of the tire is
significantly worn = alignment problem)

Juquan Dixon says:

where is the other one located at

Steve Nelson says:

Carrie…same thing here…still looking for an answer.
