Clarion NX602 in a 2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe

Just a quick look at what the Clarion NX602 looks like in an Infiniti G35 coupe. I hadn’t seen any videos of this receiver in the G coupe, so I thought this …

hey i noticed that the background color of your nx602 is orange while all
the other pics of it I see for it is blue. Is that an option within the
unit’s settings?

bronxbull1236 says:

would have been nice if you would have given addresses phone numbers where
we can get this unit total cost you paid instead of all the bullshit

Alan backlund says:

DIYBypass, com sells the bypass for this radio and it works great! As you
may already know, these radio’s take multiple pulses to work… this piece
is awesome!!!

DarwinBAB says:

Thanks! Good luck!

jemerbautista says:

Where did you buy that dash kit, looks more like the factory dash rather
than the metra dash kits I’ve been seeing.

SeeGo Green says:

I was looking at the JDM Dash kit thats sold at the dealerships like OC
Infiniti and Infiniti of Riverside. They are missing the dual climate
control button. What did you do about that? I dont really care if I lose
that function since my friends arent anal about having their air at a
different temperature than mine, but Im wondering because I see you still
have the button 🙂

DarwinBAB says:

It’s basically the only option. The problem is in the factory stereo, so
you might as well upgrade to an aftermarket unit.

DarwinBAB says:

Just use the factory AC controls that are already in your dash, that’s what
I did. Remember, the AC problem is in the factory radio, not the controls.

dboyakaproverb says:

Is the indash pretty much plug and play with the attachment?

DarwinBAB says:

No worries! Hope you got it working!

chris topher says:

I know it’s already been asked, but how exactly did you get the stock ac
controls on the jdm dash kit? Did they fit right in? And was the logic
board from the oem kit that connects to the stereo needed? I’ve read some
mixed things online and some people say you need the logic board

DarwinBAB says:

Don’t go the dealership route. All they’ll do is replace your factory
radio. For the same price, you can have a new aftermarket stereo with more
features and abilities. You just need a new double-din piece of trim and a
head unit. Installation isn’t that difficult.

DarwinBAB says:

All you need is an aftermarket Infiniti wiring harness. No additional AC
parts needed. I ran the USB input to the glove box, then ran a 6ft
extension down to the center console for easy charging.

DarwinBAB says:

As I mentioned in the video, i got the double-din kit from Cerritos
Infiniti. It fit perfectly, didn’t have to make any modifications or do any
trimming. I’d highly recommend their kit. It came with the new AC controls,
which I declined to install, since I wanted to keep the dual-zone climate
control option.

Jackie Toye says:

Where (link?) did you find the update for the bluetooth? Having the same
trouble with my Samsung III … streaming the music via bluetooth. The
phone pairing is fine, but can’t stream music

George Chavez says:

I have the same problem with my g35 ac works by itself and radio is not
working at all.. I don’t know if the dealership is a good idea because I
don’t have a lot of money :s

302SNOOP says:

how did you transfer the ac controls to the trim kit. did you do it your
self our did the shop did it for you. Or is this kit the full jdm kit..
thanks…

Playerz714 says:

how much did this setup cost you

DarwinBAB says:

I did add the steering wheel module, but I can’t remember which brand it
is. I think they’re all pretty much the same. As for the microphone, I used
a combination of double sided tape and kind of just sliding it in between
the headliner. It’s pretty simple to get nice and tight in that position. I
ran the cable from the mirror to the left side of the windshield, behind
the panel above where the tweeter is embedded, and under the dash to the
radio.

DarwinBAB says:

Haven’t been on any Clarion forums. I’m fairly sure you need a switch for
the bypass. The switch works to see behind you when driving, but it’s main
purpose is to bypass the safety feature that keeps you from watching DVD’s
or video while the car is moving.

dboyakaproverb says:

Let me know if you fix your problem. I have the same issue and I think im
just going to do what Darwin did.

DarwinBAB says:

I’m not really sure what you’re asking. Are you talking about the factory
wiring harness or the double-din trim piece?

Patrick Young says:

did u do the work yourself? is the AC wiring separate, if so did you need
additional AC parts?

10Draco31 says:

Hey I was wondering if you also put in the module that allows you to still
keep using your steering wheel controls for the stereo? if so, which brand
did you buy? Also, how did you get your microphone for the bluetooth on
your rearview mirror… like where did you run that cable through or does
it not have cables?

YoungPassion92 says:

Hey bro where did u get the trim kit from? Did it fit right in? Did u lose
any features of the radio after u put it on?

DarwinBAB says:

The stock AC controls are the controls that came with the car. Again, the
issue that causes loss of control of the AC is not the AC controls, it’s
the factory radio. I did buy the JDM AC controls, but found it was
unnecessary to install them.

DarwinBAB says:

I want to say the kit was $180-200? Yes, after the software update
(available on the Clarion website) I mention in the video, the bluetooth
feature worked perfectly, and all artist and song info appeared on the
screen. The only thing that doesn’t show up is the album artwork.

DarwinBAB says:

I posted a link to the update in the description for the video.

WoogieBoogie07 says:

Hey bro nice video I’m doing the same but I got a Kenwood radio stereo jus
a regular one and putting up my system but I crack the lid trying to remove
it which was a bummer but I can’t wait until everything is finish I like ur
setup looks real good

JazJon says:

Do you know of any online Clarion forums? I can’t find any searching around
online. I want to chat about the all new 2013 NX603. I’d like to know more
about the by-pass switch you and other person showed in their videos. Do we
need a switch or can you just mess with the parking break ground like any
other head unit to enable videos on the go? (or is the switch simply to see
backup camera video while driving?)

Jackie Toye says:

Thank you!! (insert duh! from me) Sorry, I should have checked.

Hostilekiddxx9 says:

How much was the dash kit from them? Also, when you connect your iPhone
through bluetooth does the information about the song come up? (title,
artist, album, etc.) Because I have the NX 501 in my G right now and it
doesn’t come up when I connect. I had read you needed an HD radio wire to
get the song info to show up or something

DarwinBAB says:

It’s very simple, once you get the trim piece off. I bought the JDM
aftermarket controls, but wound up not needing them, I stayed with the
factory piece. Remember, the problem with your AC isn’t with the controls,
it’s with the factory radio.
