I have an 07 G35 coupe and I’m having the exact same issue. No idea what
caused it or what is wrong. I’m just getting ready to have a pro look at.
The dealership told me they thought the clips may have been disconnected.
I saw the solution you mentioned posted on g35driver and I checked all the
screws on the motor. All of them are tight.
I just fixed mine it is very easy, my car was doing the same i have a 2007
g35x. you see the motor? the screws are loose just push it up into place
with your hands so the teeth or whatever grinds gets back into place and
you sunrrof should close i was so surprised when it worked…..i hope this
helps

I took my car to Infiniti and they’re telling me the issue is with the
moonroof assembly. They’re charging around $1750 for the part and 3 hours
of labor. Found a guy who can get a used part for $500 and will install it
for $300. Wish me luck!
