Is there anyway I can change my sparkplugs in my j30 without taking it to a
shop? I seem to need an extremely long wrench but I don’t want to take it
to a shop to pay 100 dollars to change my plugs any suggestions
It turns off all off a sudden I took it to the mechanic and he told me it
was the mass airflow sensor and the knock sensor u solved my knock sensor
problem it has more power now but it just turns off sometimes wen I hit a
red or just wen I’m driving
Worked GREAT. Back story: Initially started w/mild but worstening
hesitation around 70mph. Replaced MAF and hesitation cleared at 70 but
showed up at 0-40mph. Checked code@Autozone; implicated some prob/w knock
sens. but not specific (short, sensor malfxn, ect.). Investigated how-to
change K.S. on YT and ran across this vid. Runs like a CHARM now. Full
power throughout speedo. Hesitation GONE. Ladies, don’t be afraid to do
this. I did it and it was easy. GREAT fix! Thanks!
I have a 97 infiniti j 30. Codes were saying misfire in cylindar #5.
Changed plug and coil pack. Now car keeps dying will stay running only if I
give it gas. Now codes are saying knock sensor and cylindar #5 is bad….
Guy came out said needs all new plugs and knock sensor but he’s nvr worked
on an infiniti. How hard is it to get to the knock sensor where is normally
is? you did not show how you replaced it.
a parking lot will work just fine. Your J30 should run shitty but not cut
off. if it cuts off im thinking it may not be your maf. if your for certain
that its your maf, please go to a salvage yard and pull out the maf from a
j30 and replace it, unless you want to by a new one for just under $100.

message. ps. have you ever changed your FUEL filter? an old clogged fuel
filter can cause your car not to run properly. & cut out
@1962melody it is a huge pain in the butt. You would have to remove the
intake manifold to get to it. This video is showing where he moved his too.
Which is the same spot I moved mine too yesterday. This is achwap alt. To
full rebuild. This may or maynot work for you’re issue. But for me it was
worth a shot. And was successful.
If you can’t find the wiring harness in the wrecking yard – the part number
is 24078-30P00. You can get it a a Nissan dealer for around $34. I did this
“fix” on my daughter’s J30 today. It took less than 30 minutes and worked
perfectly. I got the knock sensor at a local auto parts store and the
harness at a Nissan dealer and spent about $150. If you’re not in a rush –
you can get everything online for about $90.

the 1997 Infiniti J30? Called local dealer who withholds info, stating he
has to sell the whole $500 unit, – no thanks. Found a knock sensor, but
can’t read part # on my original harness. Tried an Altima and Maxima
harness from junkyard as mentioned in video; apparently the ’97 J30 wiring
is a little different from other years/models. Thanks in advance!
Finished installing my relocated knock sensor. Just fyi. Nit to knock the
vid. But check the bolt. With the stock bolt you pull. When I pulled mine
out. I needed a 1.25x100mm corse thread M8 bolt. I paid 1.50+tax. And I
purchased my (KS) New with pig tails. And just rewire super easy job. But
easy to over think and panic.

whenever that happens it sucks it alot of gas. please help thanks.!!!!!!!!!!

up. My question is if that is the bolt location for OEM. Or did you make
that the location for it?

glad to hear your knock sensor issue is resolved. Ok my email is ooohimooo@ymail.com if you need a quick response. Here is what i need you
to do… go to advanced auto or autozone and have them run a quick
diognostic on your car if you have not done so. if they are saying your maf
code is coming up then it basicly needs to be replaced., BUT FIRST…
unplug your maf harness and take it for a SHORT drive……….
