Transmission Solenoid Valves Diagnostics & Programming in KIA & Hyundai 8 Speed Transmission #A8LF1

Transmission Solenoid Valves Diagnostics & Programming in KIA & Hyundai 8 Speed Transmission #A8LF1

In this video I explain all solenoid valves on the new generation of front wheel drive automatic transmission on Hyundai and KIA (8 speed automatic transmission) with these codes: A8LF1 and A8MF1
I explain the solenoid valves location, their types, how to check them in the scan tool and how to check the solenoid valves using a multi meter as each one these valves has a specific resistance.
The other important part that I explain is how to reprogram these solenoid valves as on this type of transmission 5 solenoids need to be registered to TCM/PCM after replacement. this procedure is called Oil Characteristics Input that I fully explain in the video. Wiring diagram for the valves is also provided at the end of the video.

Here is the video timeline:

Perfect video. Thanks a lot. This is a front wheel drive transmission. I know Hyundai has a rear wheel drive transmission (new gen.), I don't remember the transmission code. Do you have any details about that one too?

Ernest Damo says:

Nice video you are my role model
