I have a question , ok say you have a faulty water pump right, does the belt being loose means the water pump is going out or need to be replaced ?
My heat works just fine my A/C doesn’t tho. My car was leaking coolant this morning and the engine was starting to over heat as I was driving it (I pulled over). My car is making that chirping noise bad water pumps make. Gotta get this fixed soon

What if car only overheats sometimes and not always? Has water. New radiator, new thermostat, new hoses.
How do you know if it’s get to the heater core?
Coolant lubricated those bearings. So, keep your coolant fresh.
Why do you have to replace the timing belt if the water pump goes. I also heard you need to do an oil change if the pump goes as well. What are these parts in relation to the pump going bad?

I have a 99 Silverado with a new reman engine, water pump, thermostat and radiator all installed was installed in 2020, it sat up until January of this year, however this year when I started it the heater got extremely hot which lead me to believe the thermostat was working, heater hoses get hot but I learned the heater core was leaking, I replaced the heater core but now I can't get water to circulate through the system as it should, I replaced the thermostat again but that didn't help, zero noise from the water pump, so I flushed the system several times with no luck, I also noticed my water pump pulley has a bit of movement when I move it from side to side, could I have a bad water pump?

Got a 2000 grand prix low coolant light flashes. But has coolant. Any body any ideas. Its what i drive to take my wife to chemo theraphy. Then i got a 99 silverado heat only blows cold air.
Just happened to me today, no leaking just seized, ate the serpentine belt.
If you get no hot air you might also have a thermostat that's stuck open but you'll probably notice that earlier due to the coolant temperature
But there’s an issue to your explanation; heater cores nowadays receive coolant constantly because there’s no heater valves in vehicles anymore .
