HYUNDAI STEERING WHEEL NOISE : HOW TO FIX – SONATA/ OPTIMA 2011-2014 UNDER $20!! FAST & EASY!

HYUNDAI STEERING WHEEL NOISE : HOW TO FIX – SONATA/ OPTIMA 2011-2014 UNDER $20!! FAST & EASY!

Hello Guys! Here we bring you another how to video.

We purchased a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and the steering wheel started making a clunk/click noise every time is moved from left to right…

The problem is a small rubber coupled that goes inside the steering wheel pump. This is a common problem amongst these vehicles and it’s also a recall!! So you can actually get this fixed for free at a shop if your vehicle qualifies. Just get your VIN number and run it on Hyundai website and see if it will cover it. Or you can call your local Hyundai dealer and they should tell you if it’s covered or not! Well don’t worry if they ain’t got you covered… I know I do!

In this video we replaced the small rubber coupler and in order for us to achieve that we had to lower the steering column! It’s a very simple process all it takes is a bit of patience, time and of course… common sense!

**FIX IS VERY INEXPENSIVE! PART COST UNDER $20USD AT DEALERSHIP**

Do me a favor and hit the like and subscribe buttons if my video helped you. Also don’t forget to share if someone is looking for a solution to this problem!

Thanks a lot!!!! But I have an issue. I did this on a Veloster. When I put everything back together the steering wheel is off center. Like WAY off… Any advise in how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

The only problem I had was reinstalling the steering column with the metal hook. Getting the metal hook in the right spot was a bitch. After that , no problems

Thank you. This is my 2018 kia cerato. KIA still hasn't solved the problem. Is the general director of kia watching this video?

Roy Graham says:

Outstanding video, man. I just finished this repair with your help. The numbering was great. Especially if like me, you forgot to write the steps down it was easy to just rewind the video at the reassembly step. Thanks again, dude. Keep it up!

Robert Anderson says:

After doing a rear brake job (wtf Hyundai, why did you make that so hard), and seeing this cheap ass plastic piece fall apart in the steering column, I don't think my next car will be a Hyundai!

Seven Star******* says:

Hey man i did it on my sonata11
But now my EPS and traction light came on and its hard to even turn the steering wheel
Any idea where i went wrong?
Will be doing it again

Janet Johnston says:

This just started while we are away from home on vacation. We’re traveling on a schedule and found our car is under recall and we apparently qualify for fix, Hyundai page also says it’s not a safety issue. We’ll be driving off & on for 5 days and returning home..a total of several hundred miles.

We’d rather wait to get home to our dealership that sold us the car New in 2011, so we don’t get screwed or waste vacation time at a dealership along the trip.

Is it safe to be driving with this problem?

Lester Andino says:

Great video my car is doing the same but very minor noise, but hell that's alot of work man lol

Shanice Harris says:

How often does this need to be replaced and whats the typical cost range you would get charged to replace it at a shop?

Mariata Revenda says:
