Yesterday my 2009 Hyundai accent, stalled and would not turn over. Before this happened it was running ruff (can’t explain) tried to turn it over a few times but still would not complete the turn over..any advice? or what could it be. my check engine light never came on car just died, it was idling before I began to drive it than stalled
My Nissan xterra, 2002, se, 6 cl was running and stoped on the road. I tried the test by removing the spark plug cable and using the negative of the battery to the head of the spark plug but the spark plug did not fire fast it was slow. please e-mail me @ j-clay@live.com thank you.
My Nissan xterra, 2002, se, 6 cl was running and stopped on the road. I changed spark plug, change spark plug cables, change fuel pump, change fuel pump filter, and it crank but don’t start, I am going to buy a crank position sensor to see if it is the problem, if it does not work then I have to buy the distributor. Please if you know what I should do please let me know. I tried the test by removing the spark plug cable and using the negative of the battery to the head of the spark plug.
richpin06a I have a question about the crankshaft sensor. Could it be possible symptoms of a malfunctioning crankshaft position sensor:
(1) Sometimes the car doesn’t start – Crank but not start (no explosions on the? cylinders)
(2) The engine stops when the car stops let say in a red light ?
Your problems sounds like a possible loose belt and just because it does not have a automatic tensioner does not mean you can not tighten the belt it is just done the old fashion way.You lossen bolts move the alternator to tighten the belt then retighten the bolts.
Okay. I appreciate your response. I was checking around the numerous website and I heard the belt tensioner can cause the squealing issue that is very popular with the Mazda Protege. My alternator and water pump are fine so I was looking into the tensioner to solve the squealing issue. Again, thanks for the info.
Hey Rich.I was wondering, were you ever able to make a video on how to replace the belt tensioner for a 1996 Mazda Protege? Again, thanks for your wonderful videos.
That attitude is the reason why people call American arrogant.
Have some respect of other culture. in this case, proper foreign pronunciation.
How do you feel That I call Rich Roach.
That would be great. I eagerly look forward to seeing it. I have heard that belt tensioner when it is worn out causes the belt to squeal. My belt is starting to sound
like a pack of hungry piglets.
Another great video, Rich. By any chance do you have a video about “how to replace or adjust a tension bolt” for a 1996 Mazda Protege? My protege has been squealing lately. The water pump and alternator are fine but I heard the tensioner can cause the squealing issue.
Oh by the way, the fact that you have advertising pop up on your sight means lots of people are viewing your videos. It maybe time for you to get some sponsors ie, Advance Auto, Car Dealerships, Penzoil, ect.
I use a piece of sheet metal 1x 6 inch long with a 1/4 inch hole to screw into the tripod mount of the camera. Then i use a pair of vice grips to clamp it to the car which i only do in my junk yard endeavors.
Mr. Rich it was better if you diagnose the can in video before sensor replacement. It was real amazing if there was a no start condition due to crank sensor and you replaced that in response to diagnosing.
if the sensor is faulty, the spark will stop? cuz my car just crank the starter and no spark, no start… it was running fine and just stopped
When was the last time the timing belt was changed.

If you have no spark two of the most common parts that fail and lead to that condition are crank sensor and ignition module.

Hello richpin, very good video. What’s this other sensor that appears there besides the crankshaft position sensor?
Thank you richpin.
It is very possible as the crank sensor is one of the biggest reasons why a vehicle will not fire.

Just keep on making videos it is truly new age more more more!
Will do that. Thanks.

I looked into that and found the Protege does not have a automatic belt tensioner.

On this one it was done to show replacement there was on bad sensor involved.
