I'm about to do the front brakes on my 2013 Santa Fe Sport…never done brakes before…what about the 'shim' on the inside pad?…don't you transfer it to the new pad?…you did not…why not?
Great video! You make it look so easy!
I like the way he is explaining everything, great job and great teaching skills!!
Hi there thank you I'm not a mechanic's but your advice the work u do is amazing thank you
You are great
Thank you! Its been many years since I replaced my own breaks and your video has given me the confidence to resume this repair on my own. Thank you for the thoughtful video.
Appreciated your video. Well explained. Read some of the comments. Mostly appreciative. Regarding the negative comments there will always be those who have a " glass half empty" perspective. Video is great keep up the good work. You are appreciated.
If im just doing pads, would i be able to just slip the new ones on right after I took old ones off at 5:15 in video? Or will I need to take whole assembly off the put new pads on?
Jim, thanks so much for posting this and your other videos. Excellent resource.
i love your videos, you explain everything so well and thorough .
thx.
Bula jim, great video.
Are the brake pads specific to car model(hyundai santa fe)or can i use any brake pads in store.
Why does everything comes of without a hitch in these videos. When I try to do the Same thing I end up cussing for 3hrs make a half dozen trips to the parts store. It turns into a all day project.
well done buddy!
Jim. I'm about to do the front brakes on my Santa Fe. Can you please tell me the torque for the 17 mm bracket bolts and the 14 mm caliper bolts. thank you for your help.
After installation do I need to break in the pads and rotors by driving up to 40 mph then braking down to 5 mph and repeating about 5 times or so?
They make a special tool to compress the piston end of the caliber which is the proper way to do it. If you don’t wanna invest in a proper tour, use a C clamp. Prying on it with a screwdriver is doing a hack job, and lacks professionalism.
