At the time of this video (Look above) the filter was $7.00 , gas also was alot cheaper too) but sure is better than paying 60-70 dollars at your dealer, eh?

Nicholas Manheimer says:

3-7 dollars? NAPA, Autozone, O’Reilly, and Pep Boys where charging the same price $21.

Thank you. I did this in less than 15 min and most of that was cleaning out the glove box. The dealership wanted $76. bucks. When I told my son, he was disgusted. They got him for it. It really helped clear the smell, too. You have to run your A/C on Outdoor air not recirculate for the next 2 weeks and the mildew will be gone.

gerrytom61 says:

Thanks. Exactly what i was looking for, didn’t even realize i could snap off the side panel. Saved me a ton and the filter is so inexpensive. I’ll definitely do this myself more often now that I know how easy it is.

Yj Cross says:

My dealership charges $98. including part, tax and labor just for this. Thanks so very much.

fastfist1 says:

and to think, the dealers charge 50 dollars, plus tax for this. I did this in 3 minutes. I bought the filter from autozone for 20 dollars. I love sonatas. The maintenance is easy on them. The only things I don’t do are anything with the wheels (brakes, rotors, tires, etc), oil and tranny fluid. It doesn’t pay to do your own oil anymore.

nicely done.. your video was perfect and easy to follow. I saved a bundle doing this my self. Thank you for taking the time to put this online!

Kurt Schneider says:

Thanks…this was really helpful! My local repair shop wanted charge me an arm and a leg to replace this. With your video…I found a filter online for $10 and changed it myself in 5 minutes. Thanks again so much!!

Hey! I believe Hyundai Sonata 2005 air cabin filter is placed in a vertical position. Therefore this video is useless for you.

rice835 says:

I have a 2005 Sonata. After trial & error was able to take out the 2 stoppers & the wire string.
When I looked to replace the filter I didn’t see it. Does anyone knows where exactly it’s located. Or is in a vertical position. Which means I will have to take 2 screws on top & 2 on bottom plus the 2 nuts located on the bottom to take the whole part out. Should I be concerned with air bag located above the glove box.

juicem2 says:

Thanks for your help. It was so easy and the dealer charges a bundle for that!!
