Lamonte Garrett says:

Just use the key it self in the other hole and twist. Pops right open. No
screwdriver needed.

Jimmy Beebe says:

Hoo, nice job. Thanks, your little vid probably kept me from breaking my
fobs in pieces.

Charles Goldblum says:

Excellent. Thanks.

David M Ross says:

Very helpful after your key fob stops working…

Chuck Hall says:

Thanks to Hoo Kang for the video and Robert Otwell for the additional info.

Charlton Lam says:

I try to use the tip of the key and twist inside the slot. It works
PERFECTO!. Thanks a lot for the video and comments from others.

Robert Otwell says:

Actually it is even easier than this (I’ve changed the remote battery for
my 2011 Sonata). Push the little button and pull out the key. The tip of
the key has an edge that is like a screwdriver tip. On the flat area of the
remote that is exposed when the key is out there is a small slot. Press the
tip of the key into this slot and gently twist – the cover will pop off.
While the remote is open blow/brush out the pocket dust that collects
around the edges.

My dealer said that the fob key is rechargeable ….is that true ? If not
then whats the purpose of the center compartment slot for ?

Doug Lewis says:

I feel like a dumbass for not knowing there was an actual car key on th
remote. The whole time I was like its stupid that they dont make an actual
key for this car lol. But anyway thanks man you saved me a weekend stuck in
a house by myself. Your the man!

Grant Wallace says:

Thank you

Steve Kohn says:

Thanks. Really helped. Just changed battery based on your instructions

Hoo Kang says:

The center compartment slot- as far as I know – is for you to use your key
when your FOB runs out of battery. Or I guess you could use it to store
your key while you drive.

Robert Otwell says:

Last part: Use tip of key to lift out the old battery. New battery goes in
Positive face down! Press around the edges to make sure the cover is fully
seated. Start car – drive to Starbucks…

Hoo Kang says:

Thank you. You are a gentleman and scholar.

Hoo Kang says:

You’re welcome

linkdead14 says:
