Inportant tip!! The car needs to be running. If not theres not enough clearance to do the repair. We contorted ourselves into places 50 somethings should not try.

Why don't they use a bolt or something metal from the factory? Dumb.

I got scammed by my repair guy, he replaced the break switch and the new one he put in still was doing the same thing. I found your video and did the fix and it worked perfectly, From now on I'm doing my own work

Awesome!!! Thanks I fixed my car wiry your explanation!!

@PhilippinesOnDemand says:

My brake lights stay on, but it's because the brake does not come up to it's original position. I have to lift up on the brake with my toe to bring it home. Then the brake light goes off. Thoughts?

Also, if you don't have a properly-sized bolt-head screw and nut on hand, you can just super glue two pennies together, then super glue them to the top of the metal piece that the rubber pad used to go through. They're about the same height/width as the original pad.
