thanks man. i just ordered one for my veloster. the horn on that car is
beyond lame

dmanindfw says:

It’s strange that the normal horn they put on the Sonata at least is quite
good, but the alarm horn was so weak. Easy fix though.

repeatman says:

so they used 2 different horns? One for honking in traffic and one for the
alarm?

dmanindfw says:

Yes, seems strange but true. The alarm horn is by the firewall with the
traditional horn near the grill. The only reason that I can come up with
for having two horns is that the alarm one is far from the front so a thief
can’t easily clip the wires to it before trying to break in. The horn near
the front is there so it is louder when honking at other cars or
pedestrians.

billysepf74 says:

I like both of the horns, at least this Hyundai doesn’t have that stupid
wimpy horn.

repeatman says:

cool. Next step, add a FIAMM Freeway Blaster High note to that and see what
it sounds like then.

dmanindfw says:

It was a thought, but the low tone by itself was sufficient for the alarm
horn. The regular horn (via steering wheel) is actually pretty solid.

Sam King says:

Your horn beeps when you lock the car? Your neighbours must love you…

dmanindfw says:

Just when you hit the lock button twice. Most newer cars are like this.
Just gives you a audible confirmation that your doors are locked.
