2004 Hyundai Elantra stalls/dies at idle.

If you’re Elantra runs fine, except when you pull up to a light, slow down or idle and the engine sputters to a stop, this might be your issue. How to fix it.

I have a 2000 Accent that I’m experiencing some starting issues. When I
turn the key first time from sitting for some hours or first time start up
of the day, the engine will start but chug like its either not getting fuel
or too much air. I wonder if it could be an idle air control valve? I
replaced my idle position sensor less than a year ago and recently my idle
RPM speeds have been fluctuating – surging. That has stopped and now the
issue with starting. Any ideas?

Hello and great videoe. I have an 05 Elantra w/ same engine. Keep getting a
p0507 which is idle too high. Change TPS, MAF sensor, Idle control valve,
throttle body, and even the intake manifold gasket. I checked for leaks
too. It doesn’t stall it just surges up to 1500 rpms and then bounces
between 1500 and 2000 rpms by itself. It only does this in park/neutral but
once in gear it always drops to 1000rpms. Any thoughts, Im going crazy and
dodging cops with an old inspection sticker? Please help.
