If you squeeze the rubber nipples together with needle nose pliers, they will pull through without ripping them off the spring gasket.

they are a major pain to replace since they can’t be removed !! they snap in once and when they break loose you can’t get one from a wrecking yard since they can’t be pulled out without breaking the rear snap tabs
Excellent! Just bought an ’02 for my daughter to take to college. I think this is one of the repairs it is in line to have, as well as rears. This gives me hope. I can do basic mechanicking, and feel now this is within my abilities. Decent editing and filming. Thanks!!

if the car is sagging then the springs are generally going bad…in my experience springs will usually last the life of the car unless they broken from an accident or really bad rust can weaken them..also constantly hauling really heavy loads,and age will weaken them as well…basically if they aren’t sagging,they are probably ok
so my back struts need replacing on my 2002 elantra…do you think i just need to change the struts and not springs? my springs look pretty much like those ones in the vid..

what i need to find is a video for the rear strut removal. My brake line is attached to the strut, not bolted.
check my videos..I did front and rear shocks on the w202…rear spring you compress with a spring compressor (the Mercedes one is the best but if you are careful you can use a regular one) and then pull it out with the car jacked up..be careful with the springs they can be dangerous
