Had the same problem. Got a new gas cap yesterday and light was gone
today.
So…….how do I change tethered gas cap? Can’t figure out how to remove

2001 Saturn L-200. Engine light sometimes comes on after gassing up but

hello Sir, My Honda civic 2004 was low in gas when I refill it today the
check engine light came on, right the way i suspected that I might have
left the gas cap open so i stopped and checked the gas cap it was not
tighten properly so i tighten until i heard the clicks, but the light since
then wont go away? I disconnect and reconnect the battery couple times but
no luck.

@xHockeyBenson take it to a shop, could be any thing, bad 02 sensor, engine
misfire, EVAP failure, ext… If it starts to blink stop driving and toe it
to a shop asap.
This was extremely informative! I bought a generic gas cap a few months
back and kept ignoring the “gascap” light in my car…finally the check
engine light came on. I will be getting a new cap ASAP!

I have an 06 civic, and I got the same problem. check gas cap light was on
for couple days, then check engine light came on I checked the fuel cap
properly then and found there was a little damage on the inside replaced
the cap but the engine light is still on, i’m waiting for a few days hoping
the light goes off. 🙁

about the checking the pressure of the gas cap doesn’t it mean its good if
when you twist the cap off you can hear the gas pressure being released?
so when you replace the gas cap does the check engine light automatically
go off?
