Richard Hartman says:

Will this also work on my 2004 colordo with a 3.5 5cyl.

Jamie L says:

Hey Jim, great video and great info .Was wondering did you have to get the
jumper harness for it to hook up with new part? I have the same code for my
2006 colorado

IMPALASS9111 says:

part number 214-2147 has been discontinued the new part number is
214-2324,just replaced it on my 2008 hummer h3 and it works fine and no
more check engine light.

Jimcoboris says:

Just change it out.The light should go out after 3 run cycles but mine
would not. I had to clear it with a scanner.Never came back on.

Brad Jolly says:

I have the 07 as well. Did the Hummer solenoid work?

ratherB fishin says:

do you know were the purge valve is located for this truck?

Ben Ortiz says:

Hey..thanks for the pointer. Easy as pie and saved me a ton of cash. By the
way you can get this part on amazon for $15.39. Dealership and AutoZ###
wanted to charge me $170…only deference was the hose was not included.

SuperPopeye420 says:

Worked great on my 07 3.7 canyon ..didn’t have to drop spare tire or even
take off the canister ,left it hanging took off vent and hose ,re used hose
,reset p0449 code ..thx

Rob Pierce says:

Thx a lot.. Had picked up an 04 canyon Thursday and no sooner I went to put
on the plates check engine popped on (great sign right) ran the code got
the P0449 search about it and came across ur video. Copied down the part
number because if u ask for the sensor for the correct truck/year the parts
stores will tell u a much greater price. Got the part for $27bucks at
advance auto parts had to wait till morning to get it. Popped it in had a
little trouble with getting tube off old sensor so hit it

Jimcoboris says:

After resetting the MIL (check engine light) it has not come back on

Bryan Huff says:

Sweet…I have a 07 colorado and was just told it is the cannister vent
valve and its $170. I read somewhere else that I could use the hummer one.
Glad to see it worked for you, i’m guessing it will work for my 07
colorado. Thanks for posting this!! I don’t have to take any precautions
when repairing this? like unplugging battery or something, working with
emissions sort of scares me.

101Roggy says:

did it work for you? i have an 07 im researching part numbers right now

blackericdenice says:

He replace a vent valve.

Jimcoboris says:

A purge valve is not a vent valve.

JIMSONNEW says:

Thanksa lot for posting the video.I just replaced my vent valve I got the
one You showed from rock auto parts I found it with the part number You
gave and it works.I changed the purge valve first but It didn’t help .I
have 2006 colorado wt 4 cyl.
