I want to switch my stock i5 in my h3 to the v8… do I need to swap the transmission too… ecu ?

@OBLIGATEDbiscut1 says:

I have around 270k on my engine, has a little idle problem but other than that it's even great

@RaySpeaksTruth says:

I appreciate the video bud. I’ve done a few engines on other vehicles and might be buying one of these with a bad engine. Can the ac compressor on this one be unbolted and left hanging?

@LOUIS-fp3bv says:

Old cars and trucks easy compared to modern day stuff. I am an old man.

It's like watching a video in slow motion.

Ok l can make this job easier remove the green block from the fuse box and leave the harness with the engine you will have to unplug the a/c line and the wires at rh firewall leave the big ax line on engine and remove radiator this particular truck is a 4×4 so it’s a tougher job than a 2 wd if you can do it pull the cab off l have saved a days work doing that and the four doors are the most to do a cab off because of seat belt cable on bottom of rear seats and they have the most bolts but it’s easier than it sounds l have done about six of these and the 4×4 is the toughest can is better than the rear end pull

I really respect your calm voice. That is very stressful work.

So I’m taking mine out 3.5 o5 Colorado, when you unbolted the bell housing. Did the tranny want to fall ? Did you hold it up with anything or left it be? As well as would it be easier to take out the radiator instead of the fan to clear it or maybe both for more room ?

@Ghia356 says:

Thanks for making this video. I'm about to pull the 3.7 5 cylinder from a 2012 Colorado but I'm having trouble finding a new block. Where did you source the replacement engine for this one?

@Sgt.Hairclub says:

That 3.7 is a very hot topic it seems. It's almost 50/50 on whether it's a good engine or not. Mine has over 300k miles, but i also religiously maintain it. I heard the 3.5 was a real turd.

@jeremys1086 says:

great video man, how long of a job was it for taking it out then putting in the new engine

@mikematthews234 says:

Is that a 3.5l? I got 2 cam sensors on the one I working on finishing other people work sMh

@mikematthews234 says:

Thanks working on one now h3

@macknumber9 says:

Really appreciate you making this video. It's hard enough to do the entire job nevermore filming and narrating it. Much appreciated.
