I have an AM3+ mobo but I’m missing the top cpu mounting bracket. I can
tell the bracket your using would not work on my board and would cover up
some of the “electronics” on the board near the cpu but I can’t find any
cpu brackets for am3+ online. My brackets are single pieces unconnected
from eachother.

Never spread the damn thermal paste. Apply a pea-sized blob directly in the
middle of your cpu, (this is where all of your cores meet and is where the
heat is pulled from the most efficient). The heatsink will evenly
distribute the paste as you lock it into place. Spreading can cause paste
to squeeze out the sides onto your motherboard, and if its a high quality
paste with metals in it for better heat transfer such as Artic Silver, it
will fry your motherboard and cpu.
lol is that a metaphor for “Go grab your credit card – you need a new
heatsink”, or does spinning the fan not damage it? Because I spun mine at
the first opportunity I got, and I was gonna swap the stock cooler out for
a better one anyway, but I just wanna know.

You should never have to remove the socket. You just remove the cooler
holder bracket if you wish to install a cooler with a custom bracket.
Can U Post The Video for Removing the CPU Fan. AM a newbie i tried to
remove the fan as my temp. is reaching above 50 degrees but am not able to
remove the CPU Fan as it is too much tight with crosshair v formula z

@MrRaksasok Sorry man but it that particular Motherboard does not support
any CPU better than a Athlon 64 X2 6000+. If you want something better then
that you’ll need to buy a new motherboard. 🙁
What happens if you spin the fan?

@Sazkuki Have you updated the BIOS? Generally when a CPU is unsupported by
a motherboard it’ll run at a much lower speed then normal for safety. You
may want to check your CPU clocks in CPU-Z. If they are at the right speeds
while the system is under load you should not see any performance issues in
games or applications.
Hi there. For starters, you’ll want to ensure your motherboard even
supports the CPU. AMD has toyed with compatibility with the last two
sockets. Second, it is absolutely fine to be scared your first time. I was
scared. Everyone who first did so was scared. Simply follow the
instructions word for word, they apply to every AMD socket since AM2 which
is about 8 years old. The cooler you’ve mentioned, is it closed-looped
water cooling where the pump sits on the CPU?

overheat protection, so if you forget to install a heatsink or cooler, it
will shoot down on POST. Is that true?

You may be able to find something on E-Bay or Amazon for under $50 for at
least an Athlon X2.

I got the 1055 it dropped to 1,9 from 4,5 when I had the dual core. I am
not sure whats the problem, I even overclocked it to 3,3ghz Yet it shows
poor rating.
warning ! do not touch the pins of the processor !!! specially when you are
not grounded !
@Sazkuki The Experience Index is really nothing to go by, as long as it
performs better where it matters or the same in single-threaded loads it
should be all good. 🙂 If however it is noticeably slower or you find no
performance gains in highly threaded workloads (such as converting video
etc..) then you should look into a new motherboard. 🙁
Random they don’t buy you can by a surface purifier and a paist anywhere
that sells computers but I recommend amazon they can be pricey

I had to muscle it on. One of the issues was I was using the cardboard
motherboard box as a non conductive base. So when I pressed down, the
cardboard box would sqeesh down making me feel like I was putting way too
much force. It was easier when I put it on a harder surface. Still a pain
in the ass.
