I use a chain for road bicycle ( I replace it only when is streched ) from
4000 to 7000 or even 8000 km. Depends on how hard you ride it and how good
you clean it.

hey guys, my chain keeps slipping when under pressure, pushing up hills
etc. it is a brand new bike. any help would be great.

lazurm says:

Change a chain every 500 miles? You’d have to have gone through some bad
terrain, combined with rain, all the time for this to be a general rule.
Lubricate properly and your chain can go for even 1,500 miles, or even more.

redneck2010ize says:

GlorytoJesus alone says:

Thank you for this video. It was a big help!

kie7077 says:

I had slipping gears, I learnt: Not oiling the chain causes chain wear,
chain wear causes cassette wear, worn cassette = skipping. Adjusting
derailleur high/low screws is pointless, don’t do it. Cassette wear is
something you can see visually, the edges of the cogs look like they’ve
been hammered towards the center of the tooth along the edge of the tooth.
A bent hanger can also cause skipping, but you need a special tool to
check/fix that. First point of call is simply adjusting cable tension.

jinx20001 says:

but you are right he said change the chain every 500 miles but i think he
didnt mean that.

Kevin Pinto says:

thank you friend!
