After school had finished this year, on my second to last day in Utah before moving back to Colorado, I decided to go hit up Rattlesnake out at 5 Mile Pass o…

H3 Best!

What’s up with all the negative talk about the Sequoia, saying it doesn’t
belong here? With maybe 4 sections as exceptions, the rest of it wasn’t
even worthy of being considered an off-road trail; more like unpaved roads.
It’s just amazing what passes for “serious stuff” these days. No mud,
everything is dry, the path is laid out. What else was there to do except
that at a few spots some geometry was required (and in some places they
could’ve just bypassed them). Sure, the Sequoia doesn’t have the
“credentials” of the other two, but for the sole fact of it being
considered an SUV it needed to prove at least something here. And it sure
did that respectfully. So, as far as I’m concerned, the Sequoia looked ok
in this environment even if the other 2 could potentially do more.

Felix Hernandez says:

H3 did awesome. Not even a sweat. True to the name. I’ve owned a number of
Jeeps and now an H3. Both capable, but not even the new Jeeps have the
refinement of the Hummers. FJ pretty good as well. Sequoias do horrible off
road. Seen that first hand.

Jiko Jikosta says:

gentlemen…I got a questions and highly appreciate your answers.
I bought a 2009 FJ cruiser….there’s a button called RSCA if I’m not
mistaken…what is it for?

and how can I turn off auto head lamps…whenever I turn the car on and put
it on drive whether it was day or night…the headlamps go on automatically.

many thanks.

I really enjoyed this video one of the better offroad videos I seen here
lately

Fj is the best

STI828 says:

WHY ISNT THE SEQ LOCEKD???

The lying Dutchman says:

Fj were the best. too bad 2014 is their last year.

Patrick Rich says:

Wow I can’t believe (yes I can) that Im the first person to say that the
Sequoia does have a diff lock (center diff lock), since they are full time
4wd and need a center diff. I ran into this a lot when I was looking for
my cruiser I would ask “does it have the diff lockers” (front and rear
lockers were optional) and half the people would say “yes it does” to which
I would follow up with “is it a button or a dial, oh a button? thanks
bye.” since the button locks the center diff manually and the dial selects
the front or rear lockers. Given the mission of the Sequoia and the trail
you tried, im impressed it made it at all. Sorry for being late to the
party. I can’t wait to run this trail soon.

John Coyne says:

Sequoia for comic relief. Great vid

Charles Gray says:

Put the seq. into 4wd low and shift the transmission down to low or 1st
gear. That activates the ATRAC system (similar to porche or range rover as
is senses slip and applies brakes to the tires that are slipping) then
stand back and be surprised how well the tree actually wheels.

Youre welcome.

kelkev85 says:

I never see sequoias wheeling always thought they would be a good option

JonHof96 says:

Hummer did everything no problem

stevey500 says:

Great videos, Hayden

rodrigo morales says:

the one driving the sequioa doesnt know how to 4WD, the hummer guy knows he
ahs to go smooth to avoid tire spinnin

greensammy87 says:

Nice vid looks like a great place to wheel

diegoalejandro64 says:

looks fun nice video, but the sequoia needs better tires.

Federico Lopez-Casildo Jr says:

It’s all about having a good time.

Joe Hernandez says:

Great video! Did y’all reduce the psi on the tires to below 20? That Helps
TONS to avoid spinning and get better crawl! Looks like the H3 is the only
one with the lockers to get full 50/50 power.

Steve Oh says:

The guy in the mall crawler was wearing gloves…

Hummer wn! Yeeaah!!

Kevin Rabb says:

would love to know how the FJ driver got the 3rd brake light to flash when
braking

TehPaws3D says:

Why so much hate between toyota owners and jeep owners and hummer owners,
Nissan is where it’s at ya noobs!

I’m kidding!! But really people, there is no need to say this one is better
than that one or this is more reliabile than the other, If you are
responsible off-road enthusiasts you will hook your recovery line to any
make or model to help a fellow enthusiast out of whatever they got stuck in
=) Each person out there on a trail has a reason why they bought that
specific car, Maybe the signifigant other or the kid thought it was cool
and they make the best out of it, or maybe they thought it had a better
body than *__*. There is no need to call eachother retarded or start
internet fights or attempt to justify your reasoning on why your choice is
the best choice, instead, put your pencils and tablets and keyboards away
and just go enjoy the outdoors, and to hell with makes or models or what
have you and enjoy the trail with your fellow enthusiast, even if they
drive a different model than you. Personally, I loveeee the look of a
hummer! The front end of a fj cruiser is awesome and I love the top down
ability of jeeps. But that is my, opinion. And remember everyone has a
different opinion and you have to respect that. (sometimes even if it is
wrong.)

And as a small side note, I do believe the americans sold the blueprints of
the Jeeps to the Japanese to help them make a off road vehicle because it
was cheaper to have them made there (as it was closer to the battlefields
in that era, Vietnam? I’m not sure of the theatre) and it wasn’t as they
expected, so they continued with the jeeps and kept importing them. I think.

Remember, leave the arguments behind and go find a trail!

FJ Legend.. specialist for this situation
H3 It’s really good but wear out quickly, unfortunately,
Sequoia It’s a comfortable car for family .. wasn’t made for extreme
off-road ..

Also I agree with some commentator below, as he said -“Tires, tires, tires”

yota war says:

Sequoias are fun to drive on the road but damn… Don’t take them off. They
are not built for that.

Ammar Al-ammary says:

Which best in off road ?
1- FJ
2- H3

TheGreatCesar720 says:

the sequoia is shit

jacob weed says:

That is one badass fj

Jeff Hickman says:

As far as history and current affairs go…the Jeep beats and rules any
semblances of a “Toyota” 4X4 hands down! Oh,@‘Phoenix Conrad’…you need
spelling and grammar lessons. Your so-called cheap shot about ‘ignorant
Americans’ holds little weight considering we kicked your as# more than
once! Bring it!

Kong Lee says:

The sequoia had no business being there… Comfortable SUV, but not really
meant for the extreme terrain

zeng ricky says:

H3 waling like BOSS

Chris Henson says:

trotanium13 says:

coton says:

Guy who owns the sequoia don’t know how to drive and didn’t have his
lockers on. I have one and I blow over stuff like that.

Merc7 says:

that sequioa is trash

1djFlashboogie says:

Hummer is the only true off roader in this vid. followed by the FJ.

The Hummer Channel says:

I really like the look of the FJ, but I don’t care for that little second
door. Great vid though, good quality.
