thanks very much for this – looks pretty simple and will save the £280
labour that the garage wanted to charge me!

Markita Richey says:

So how long is this process on a 2005 C230 Mercedes Benz?

atif B says:

What you do if you did not evacute ac system before you open these lines ??

Markita Richey says:

So how long is this process on a 2005 C230 Mercedes Benz?

Daniel Garza says:

Thank you, I can do this on my own now. The mechanic wanted to charge me
$400.00 dollars.

Sichao Jia says:

a very nice clip. On 2:37, what view of this, from the bottom of car?

Juan Barraza says:

Do you have to re oil the compressor after the an ac leak?

Terry Hollis says:

Thank you I’m a visual learner.

Stephen Woodworth says:

Superb instructions. Going home to do the same thing to a 1992 Infiniti
G20 with a separate receiver/dryer. Confidence level has increased by
100%. I’ll pay Atlanta Undercar Specialists (shameless plug) to have it
vacuumed and recharged with 134a.

flyassqbn says:

I need to replace the smaller refrigerent line. what is that part called?

marc carraway says:

Excellent, excellent, excellent. Thanks so much for this video. Cant thank
you enough.

Hector Carrasco says:

Hi what is the conector for wondering if i can go without it

2point0T says:

Did you add the 2.6 oz of oil to the condenser before you put it in or
inject it when you add the freon?

richpin06a says:

@inlifex EVAC:remove the air from the system.

richpin06a says:

I believe i got that one from AutoZone.

richpin06a says:

Most dryers come separate.Min 1/2 hour vacuum on system. Each component has
a certain amount of oil in it.

richpin06a says:

@rockandroll1968 After your repair did you vacuum check the system for at
least 15 minutes before evacing the system for 1 hour..

richpin06a says:

@69in89 I would only do it if it needs it on this part i hope you
understand.

richpin06a says:

1.Recover the refrigerant. 2.Remove the radiator. 3.Remove the A/C line
coupling from the condenser tube to the receiver dehydrator tube. 4.Remove
the A/C compressor line nut from the condenser and position the A/C
compressor line aside. 5.Remove the condenser from the vehicle

rhinotk1 says:

Does The ac dryer come separate with the ac condenser? After replacing the
ac condenser, how do you vacuum pump the air and for how long do you vacuum
pump for. Do we add refrigerant after vacuuming pump.

andrea hinojosa says:

i have a 2005 impala..how would i change the ac condensor on my car. i need
to do this asap. i have no ac in my car.

ShadowAZN9 says:

What will happen to the car if you have no refrigerant in the ac condenser,
when you turn on the ac? Will it do any damage to the car??

Dan NY W says:

Great video! Your video is very helpful because I am going to replace my
condenser soon. Where you get your condenser from? Have a nice day!!

richpin06a says:

@ShadowAZN9 There is a pressure switch that will prevent the system from
turning on if the refrigerant is low.

Isaac Chow says:

great video! I have a question about the ‘vacuum pump’. I have a ‘friend’
mechanic who changed a compressor for my car a year ago. The compressor
went bad after a few months. I found out he did not evac the system. I
ended up fixing it with another shop and now it has been good. Is this the
same ‘evac the system’ step for compressor replacement? My ‘friend’
mechanic is good at changing brakes and stuff. He charges me very cheap in
labor. Not sure he can do this. Thanks.

richpin06a says:

A Halogen Leak Detector is the best way to find a leak and some day i will
own one because they are coming down in price. For the time being i find
most leaks by listening for the hiss the refrigerant makes through the leak.

richpin06a says:

@ipodtouchfan221 I would suspect that is were the problem is

sm870621345 says:

I cant believe how you can get all these camera views, I have a hard enough
time getting a work light to shine where I want it

Lo Mein says:

great video. How do you evac the system?

ipodtouchfan says:

i tried putting a vaccum on my AC system before a charge, and it was
showing a magor leak, the only thing i took off when i did the motor swap
was the lines on the back of the condenser, does that mean the o rings in
that are bad?

richpin06a says:

@Bigjohnnywad The temperature of the air inside of the vehicle will be
warmer.

mattherklotz says:

why did u replace it?

richpin06a says:

Those sealer are more trouble than they are worth. You see they will get in
places were you do not want and restrict the flow of refrigerant which is a
bad thing.

bango56 says:

What do you use to lubricate the O rings. Does it need to be a special
lubricant?

richpin06a says:

@mattherklotz It had a pin size hole in it.

richpin06a says:

Use the same oil that is inside the system AC refrigerant oil.

Chris Feldhouse says:

How deep of a vacuum do you draw it down to? 400 – 500 microns?

redapple says:

I got one n I used it , but still not found any leak evidence. May be
because not enough presure to detect . Can u please tell me how much
pressure should I maintain to get that leak detector find it . N I know it
has to be some leaks some where.

crawfords90 says:

i dont know how that all works in the car. So when you say “charge it up”
how do you do that exactly?

rockandroll1968 says:

hey is it true that if i change the ac coondenser I have to remplace the ac
dryer accumulator as well?i need to change my ac condencer too cause i have
a whole on too. u make it seem to easy so i might tyr it.

rockandroll1968 says:

@richpin06a hey do u have any idea what I did wrong? i have change the ac
concencer and the dryer then charged it with 2 cans of R134 and one of
small can of oil. and it seem like it was holding it good and it was
blowing cold air but now at the next day it not holding any pressure and
not blowing any cold air at all. please any advice will be apreciated..

richpin06a says:

I’m from the great Northeast.

Dillon Bunch says:

Well i really am thankful for finding this video it helped me
TREMENDOUSLY(?). couple weeks ago i had a wreck in my wife’s Altima and had
to replace the condenser and the radiator. I couldn’t have done it without
this video. Thanks….. p.s how do you get the washer nipple things off (
the sprayers)

redapple says:

Hi richpin my a.c. was down for long time n now I try fix it . Lately I ran
manifold gage n show leak . I try to find leak n couldn’t find.no dye
showed . My question is what could it be causing leak?.air temperature no
change n 2 a.c. lines hot n warm . Maybe expansion valve or condenser, or
compressor not charging even though clutch is running , please help Thaksin
advance.

Danny Alkhateeb says:

Great video, thank you

pcfxer says:

Definitely don’t need to. Nissan FSM makes no mention of it. Also, if the
condenser is damaged but the car is young….even less of a reason to
change the drier.

darkfyre2k7 says:

do you do these videos on the side? or is this just a hobby?
