I about peed when I saw the thumbnail, that was my first sportbike!!!! Bought one when I was in college and my parents hated me for it, but it was the best thing ever! Got it cheap because it had been hot wired and stolen at some point in its life and no one could figure out the electrical gremlins lol I worked at a bike shop and between all of us we got it running.

Bought this same bike new in 1994, had it six months and it was stolen and never seen again. Completely broke my heart.

@lifebehindtheselens says:

There's no fixing it it's a carburetor cleaning and you put it back together Jesus

@corvettstingray says:

Almost bought one 11 years ago for 2.5k but I passed on it because I needed money for other things, I regret not buying it

That brings back memories! My first bike was a 1996 Erion Racing CBR 900RR. My buddy picked up a Smoking Joe F3 in 98. The 600 was more flickable and fun but the 900 had that punch of a liter bike

I would have wanted to take those air/idle screw mixture screw caps out while I was digging around in there for fine tuning, but with a bike that stock and valuable I can see why you wouldn't want to mess with it. What an awesome project with a a nice garage to work in!

@Shadow0fd3ath24 says:

if the pump came on when the key was on and the bike wasnt running…it would fill the bowls and flood it quite quickly!! That is standard on bikes with carbs and a low pressure pump

I need help with my Kawasaki 250r

@JosephEby says:

This is beautiful, so many shops turn down bikes like this nowadays, it’s super inspiring to see this project come to fruition. Good luck on the project Sean!

Multiple Maple Doughnut boxes.Was worth the trip for those alone!

@jeffreybodine2897 says:

It only pumps when the engine turns over or is running … the pump is energized by the coils so that when you crash , the fuel pump doesnt keep running …. I think

@jfdashley9028 says:

Very cool bike.

@PNW_Trials_Adventures says:

The ultrasonic cleaner couldn't have done those throttle shaft bearings any good…

Watching someone clean the 4 inline carbs just brings back memories…. that I might not want to bring back….

Nice bike! One of my favorite models and has to be one of the greatest sport bikes overall (in terms of significance and overall sales of the 600f3). All of us into sports bikes back then wanted some variant of this bike, or GSXR, it seems like.
