GDI engines are trash period

honeybun33 says:

Why would the oil filter come with a silly plastic covering anyway??

Dr Snooz says:

It's also a REALLY good idea to fill the filter with oil prior to putting it on, assuming it isn't oriented in a way that the oil will simply pour back out when you put it on.

Scotty your the best. Keep teaching and speaking the truth. Peace to you brother…..

Joe Brown says:

i have an Hyundai Elantra with GDI engine 5 years now and my neighbour a 2011 sonata no oil dilution we live in western side of Canada where it gets extremely cold in winter to desert like temp in summer.. so far so good no issues.. i think Honda missed something in their design.. a buddy at work his CRV with its oil level increases after every service HONDA SAID THAT NORMAL … 3% fuel dilution can spell disaster much less

Wow…I had a 1988 Accord that literally fell apart mechanically at 100k. I woud never buy another based on the experience I had with that hunk of crap. But to hear this…again, wow…How does a manufacturer like Honda get away with this sort of crap design?
