How to Rebuild Front Suspension | DIY Removal & Replacement | 1991 Honda Civic Wagon

The front suspension was in need of repair. I do not know the history of the parts and with 370,000 miles on the chassis, some of those may have never been replaced. You will need a few specialized tools to complete this by hand, most importantly would be the electric impact gun (or air compressed gun), the threaded stock, nuts, and washers. You may try to use a ratchet to get the bearing and hub back in but that seems like it would take quite a while and be tiring.

All of the parts were purchased off of ebay, including the ARP wheels studs. Most of them were pretty inexpensive. I have used ebay wheel bearings, tie rods, ball joints, and pads and rotors for years now and have never had an issue with premature failure.

hell yeah! that was great! i never would have thought of that trick with the impact. i need to do my drivers side front bearing. now i feel better about it

BklynBuild718 says:

Dude I’m lost with this wheel bearing ordeal! I bought a set of 89 crx si knuckles for my D16a6 swap into my std hatch. Now every time I’ve ordered front wheel bearings for these knuckles, they’re ending up to be too small as if they’re for the dx and std models. I’ve ordered from eBay and rockauto for the 1.6 Si model and both companies sent the same wheel bearings I had which are incorrect. I’m really at a stand still and kinda stumped. Do you have a part number for any wheel bearings from a crx si? I can’t seem to get the correct one for these knuckles.
