Avery Gollnick says:

I have a 91 accord and the driver side door will not lock. When you press
either the drivers side or passenger side lock, it will lock all the doors
except the drivers side. I opened up the door and there are three loose
wires coming from the accuator and a two pin adapter that should connect
them. I am scared to try to guess and start connecting things. Do you know
how this works?

curvenut says:

Hi,
I have an intermittent problem on my drive side actuator. I cannot lock
it so I have to use my keys. For unlock it is working 1 times on 2,
usually, the first try it wont unlock , so I press lock and then Unlock,
and this time drive side unlock.

Do you have an idea of my problem ??

Thanks

tongo117 says:

thanks. just used this info to replace passenger side actuator. no
problems other than fighting to get the door panel back on. but, after
removing the plastic piece that covers the side mirror mounting bolts it
went on easily. that was my bad, should have watched your video on taking
door panel off/on.

Guardian Mn says:

very helpful! I screwed up my car then I found this video:)

1A Auto Parts says:

You could have a couple of bad ones. Usually they’ll try to pop-up and
unlock but won’t when they go bad.

HeyFaggot! says:

I have a 94 Accord lx. The lock works but it makes an annoying sound when I
lock it. What do I do to make it go away or do I have to replace the lock
system?

1A Auto Parts says:

@snoman6363 As far as we know it more than likely came stock option on the
vehicle.

1A Auto Parts says:

They should loosen right up for you.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to see if there’s power going to the switch, to see if the
switch has gone bad. You can use a test light or an ohm meter to test
this.Hope this helps you out 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

@Honkynees If none of them work I’d look at the switch or fuse first.

KingMiichael says:

I have a 97 honda civic and one day my power door lock just went out it’s
only one sided power door lock. I don’t know if it’s the Door Lock Actuator
or something can you please help answer me?

j. navarro says:

Thank you. Will check it out.

WhatAboutMyName says:

How can i check to see if its the solenoid or the actuator?

1A Auto Parts says:

@LittleRicky63 You may want to take the door panel off of the car and see
if you can tell where the noise is coming from. If it happens to be a piece
of metal on the key lock, you could try to spray some white lithium grease
on it to quiet it down. Hope this helps you out.

KevBik says:

@watchandask, simply remove the fuse to the door locks… you should be
able to pull the door lock stem up… if it comes up without the fuse, then
it is the door lock actuator.

MegaWoody31 says:

how does the power door lock switch get its power,,no power at switch,,96
accord,,is it the actuator that sends power to the switch,,fuses are
good,,pass side does not work either,,please help asap..

briansmobile1 says:

@xornahtanoj It’s the lock actuator that is part of the Latch mechanism.

Tobi Bledsoe says:

I own a 99 Civic and I need to replace all of them. How would I know they
are in fact the actuators that are bad? The door locks do not work but
could it be another factor? Thanks

sexybologna111 says:

@1aauto I can reach the rod but its not making the door open… Is my next
option to drill the door from the inside since it wont open? Getting tired
of climbing in and out of this darn car!!!!

1A Auto Parts says:

Hi Julio, Usually when a door lock actuator starts to go bad that’s what
happens. If you need to replace yours, we carry new ones with free shipping
for all kinds of vehicles on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

AddisonFamily50 says:

@xornahtanoj I have a similar issue. My ’94 Accord keeps trying to lock the
locks when I use the key to lock from the outside. Although it locks on the
first try, it sounds like it “tries” several times. Just yesterday, my
battery went dead, and I believe it was because of the lock issue.
(although the heat may have something to do with it as well) My initial
thought was to pull the fuse for the locks, assuming I could figure out
which one it is. Any thoughts?

Nate Martin says:

Are the right and left actuators the same part? Meaning could I purchase a
right side actuator for the driver door?

1A Auto Parts says:

@Darkmand8 You may want to take the door panel off of the door and check to
see if the door lock rods that may be in there are going to the correct
locations. It almost sounds as though something may be in the reverse
location inside of the door. Hope this helps you out.

Daniel Dhanota says:

The replacement they sent me, has a different plug, but the module itself
is a fit. Can I splice the two different plugs? Also when I just unplug the
actuator some how I still hear the grinding sound unlocking and locking the
door, Help?

snoman6363 says:

@1aauto do you have any reccommedations for a simple lock/unlock keyless
entry system? I might install an actuator for the trunk to so it will work
with the keyless entry system… but all I’m looking for is a simply
lock, unlock, and trunk open… and flashing light and horn honk for
confirmation. Thanks!

1A Auto Parts says:

We carry the actuators on our website. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to test the power going to the door lock actuator to see if it
does have power to it. If there is power to the actuator, it may have gone
bad.

1A Auto Parts says:

The window should slide into place on the regulator once it’s in place.
1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

@watchandask You would need to test the wire going to it to see if it has
power to the actuator. If there is then the actuator more than likely has
gone bad.

MichaelZ1991 says:

will this concept work on a honda accord lx 2000?

1A Auto Parts says:

@Darkmand8 You may want to take the door panel off of the door first to see
if anything inside of the door has become disconnected from the key lock
cylinder. Hope this helps you out.

snoman6363 says:

hey quick question… did that keyless entry come stock with your accord?
or did you install it as an aftermarket? please respond ASAP!!! Thanks

Gamertoo9 says:

very good video matey ! on my 2000 accord. doors going bad 1 by 1. rear
left was first to go > front left > then rear right. i can only unlock
drivers door with remote now and when im driving it keeps clicking wanting
to lock even though its already locked. Does this sound like the actuator?
is that normal they all go bad 1by 1 ? thank you

1A Auto Parts says:

@xornahtanoj That is a good question. Never experienced anything like this
so I’ll put your question out and see if anyone responds with a better
answer than mine.

1A Auto Parts says:

They are different. We carry new ones with free shipping in the lower 48
states on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Julio Morales says:

I think I might have to replace my actuator. My driver side door just
stopped working with my remote yesterday, maybe from a hard shut from the
wind or something. The weird thing is, when I press the remote I can hear
everything moving, I can almost see the lock move up or down, but it just
wont complete. You think the actuator handle might have slipped out or what
could possibly be the problem?

johnhurt888 says:

i removed the window track in order to replace the actuator. but now i
can’t seem to re-install the window track where it was before. the window
should be up in order to put back the window track right? how to put the
window track back? i can’t seem to slide it back up onto the “track”

1A Auto Parts says:

@sexybologna111 You would need to somehow release the latch from the
striker. if you can’t get it to release you may want to take it to your
local auto body shop to see if they can open it for you. They usually know
some pretty good tricks.

1A Auto Parts says:

It might be a similar procedure.

1A Auto Parts says:

@DTM95621 If the plug end is different call our sales staff at 888-844-3393
and they will look your order up for you to see if you were sent the
correct part.Hope this helps you out.
